Description:

(ID 1352385)
Thirteen Steps to Recovery is a collection of 12 acoustic tracks telling the story of an unknown artist based in the heart of London. Painfully honest, the songs are at times accompanied by strings or a full band. Simply a beautiful and fragile album.

Please Note: This album is a CD-R and comes packaged in a pharmaceutical bag with the artist details shown.

Thirteen Steps to Recovery is an album based on the 12-step recovery program. Being British, I enjoy having a good drink but, as us Brits know, this can quickly degenerate into a legless stupor of sick, loneliness and misery.

We need a prescription to pick ourselves up; we need the 12 step program to make us carry on.

And this album is it. Taken from the artistâs real life journey, the album is an honest look at harm and recovery. Poignant, real-world issues such as domestic violence, sexuality and drugs are all explored from the artistâs own experiences and, unlike us British alcoholics; the picture painted is a sober one. If you asked about my journey youâd only hear about my hazy phone calls to Napoleon and, as far as I remember, he never did have any idea about the fleet off Portsmouth.

But what, you may ask, is the thirteenth step?

To find out go online (www.13steps.co.uk) and, while youâre there, check out some of the art work that goes hand in hand with the music. The production company Strange Pills is also building an online community where users can blog their own steps to recovery.

Send an email to the artist dave@strangepills.co.uk and he will notify you when you can log on, add your own, read others or simply find out more about my drunken adventures with Napoleon.

Until then buy the album, enjoy the vibe and if you are in the UK check out the live act, it is awesome, acoustic or the full show; not to be missed!
