Blick Van Glory blends 80's synth pop with fist-pumping anthem rock in their first single, "The Sophomores."
1 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: British Pop
Details:
âThe Sophomores,â an up-tempo number that blends 80âs synth-pop with fist-pumping anthem rock, is the first single from Blick Van Gloryâs upcoming album, The Search for Quest.
Building from a quiet intensity to an in-your-face chant reminiscent of the Ramones, the song follows a take-no-prisoners bunch who confidently stroll the halls of high school, professing how far theyâve come without acknowledging that they obviously have a long way to go. Beneath the humor and wit of the narrative lies a metaphor for being a sophomore in the grand scheme of life, making the lyrics as thought provoking as they are entertaining.
Blick Van Glory is the creation of Los Angeles-based filmmaker Todd Edwards, who wrote the songs featured in the movie Hoodwinked. Blick Van Glory's album The Search for Quest is produced by John Mark Painter (Ben Folds, Fleming and John). The song "The Sophomores" features drummer Lindsay Jamieson (Ben Folds).
Stay tuned for the forthcoming video for âThe Sophomoresâ and the debut album from Blick Van Glory, The Search for Quest.
