Details:
Vougeot (voo-ZHOH) sings gothic ballads with a power that is undeniable.
Streets tells the story of a solitary person's journey through a midnight city. Deserted alleys, moody coffeehouses, haunted subways, and a blackbird's cautionary tale become metaphor where we - vulnerable, isolated - encounter the unvarnished reality of the streets, apathy and denial, respites of hope, and ultimately the strength of personal resolve which leads us from resignation toward transcendence.
Vougeot's training on classical violin is reflected in her songwriting, where she, like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Brahms, composes and performs with the primary intention of eliciting that painful, yet overwhelming, cathartic response of the listener.
One of Vougeot's newest recordings, "Walls of Glass," recently won the Grand Prize in the Great American Song Contest of among over 3,000 songs worldwide and Fourth Place in the Billboard Songwriting Contest. This award-winning alternative power ballad was co-written and co-produced in Vancouver, B.C. with Dave Pickell, prominent Sony producer who has worked with major artists such as Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette, and Lara Fabian to name a few. "Walls of Glass" is currently being solicited for feature placement on Major Motion Picture soundtracks. This song and other new recordings of Vougeot can be listened to and/or purchased at her website:

And so you ask, "What is this www.singfortheanimals.com all about?" Well, as someone who possesses a tremendous compassion for animals, Vougeot is on a mission to become the largest voice for the animals in the music industry. Currently, there are musicians who support animal causes, but none as of yet who are defined by them. That slot is hers to take. It will be a fulfillment of her dream to hear someone in the Industry say, "Vougeot? Oh yeah, she's that animal rights singer, isn't she?" Why yes, yes she is!
Vougeot is slotted as one of four selected performers nationwide to perform at the National Animal Rights Conference in Los Angeles this July. Further, and in congruence with her mission, she is also currently producing an animal advocate show for college touring which will incorporate the projection of animal imagery in hopes, through music and video, to heighten audience awareness of the intrinsic value of our fellow creatures. She is seeking management and booking to help make this mission a huge success.
