Everything from sensual and flirtatious up-tempo songs, to thought provoking ballads is included in this album, as well as the saxophone and piano playing sounds of Vonnell himself (which is a rarity in its genre).
11 MP3 Songs
LATIN: Latin Pop, WORLD: World Fusion
Details:
Vonnell,a young singer/songwriter who launches himself into the music industry with
Grammy-Winner, Producer Roberto Morales , Brazilian Guitarist Jucimar de Oliveira and VIMmusic Record
Label, with his debut album "31 de Febrero" , which comes from a rich, diverse and interesting angle;
pop/rock, ballads, and songs with modern and exquisite Cuban as well as Brazilian energies.
Vonnell is a student in the University of Miami Frost School of Music whom has dedicated his life to the
performing arts. In middle-school, inspired by friends, he began studying piano and saxophone, dreaming of
one day becoming a great musician.
Vonnell joined Miami Dade Collegeâs Jazz Big Band as a saxophonist in 2003 and at the same time
performed in several piano recitals music by Beethoven and Shumann among others. He formalized his
studies as a Jazz Vocalist at the University of Miami Frost School of Music and haunted by his endless
ambition and ability to pursue his dreams he decided to solidify himself as an entity within the music industry
by studying production, also at the University of Miami. He was invited to perform and produce music for
independent films, which immediately caught the attention of its specialized media. In 2003, The Miami
Heraldâs magazine Viernes named him âThe Promise for 2003.â
âVonnell is a young man with a lot to say, and even yet, with a lot more to singâ âwrote one of the newspaperâ
s top writers, Charles Cotayo.
Facing difficult, adversity-filled times in the music industry, towards the end of 2004, Vonnell founded his own
record label VIMmusic with the help and support of his familyâgiving way to his first production "31 de
Febrero". In this project, Vonnell not only acts as Singer/Songwriter/Instrumentalist, but also as Producer
side-by-side with Brazilian guitarist Jucimar de Oliveira and Grammy-winner Roberto Morales who produced
Vonnellâs vocals and brought great ideas to the table in songs such as the songs âLuna,â âEl Juego del
Querer,â âCosas del Destinoâ ,and He is a Doctor in the video "Cara de Caramelo." first cut of "31 de Febrero"
âVonnell is the most talented artist with whom Iâve worked with my entire lifeâ âsays Roberto Morales when
asked to describe what it was like working with Vonnell.
Influenced by artists such as Billy Joel, David Sanborn, Brazilian greats such as Djavan, Ivan Lins, César
Camargo Mariano, Miltom Nascimento, Spainâs Alejandro Sanz and Jazz legends Charlie Parker and Art
Tatum, Vonnell brings to us with this incredible production, a slight fusion of musicâs huge pop/rock sound
with that of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and even a slight touch of Cuban vibe, creating a style which
clearly and properly identifies this great musician.
When asked to explain the name of his CD, 31 de Febrero (February 31), Vonnell explains: âBesides it being
the name of one of the songs, I decided to name it 31 de Febrero because I wanted to name the project
something as simple as a âdateâ but at the same time, something that would evoke thought as a non-existent
date naturally would.â
The multilingual singer/songwriter (who speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French) puts all of
himself in this production giving us 5 songs written by him and 6 which he co-wrote with Brazilian guitarist
Jucimar de Oliveira ,Brazilian pianist Daniel Fortes, Brazilian songwriters Julio Cesar Gonçalves and Lorena
Bezerra.
As a composer he is âhonestâ; he says and writes what he feels without chasing after specific reactions from a
commercial standpoint:
âWhen working on a song, I try to communicate with her at a spiritual level to see what sheâs trying to tell me,
to see what it is that she wants and how it is that I can make her happy. What works for me is seeing a song
like a woman; I donât try to make her, nor understand her, just love her.â âsays Vonnell when asked what
helps him bring such powerful magic and sensuality to his songs.
Pure, Raw Talent! ...is what best describes Vonnell, a young Cuban singer/songwriter whoâs well on his way
to the top without letting anything or anyone get in his way.
VONNELL is quickly rising to the top in national and international Record Pools.
