Cristiana Villalva is the fifteen year old Power Pop diva of Christian Contemporary music. Cristiana engages her audience as she exhibits power and control beyond her years. Godâs hand and His anointing are evident in Cristiana's life and her music. Born and raised in San Diego, Cristiana Villalva is not your typical Southern California native.
At the tender age of fourteen, Cristianaâs life is already breaking away from the norm with the release of her first solo CD entitled INNOCENT WISDOM. The full 13 track album produced by Grammy Winner Jonni Glazer and engineered by Grammy winner James Galvez includes powerful lyrics, five ballads and one knock out performance by Cristiana Villalva from beginning to end.
Cristiana was born with an innate sense of music. Her talent and intrinsic ability to express herself through music goes back generations. Numerous members of Cristianaâs family tree are accomplished in the arts. The most significant influence on Cristiana is her mother and manager, Lisa âVâ. At one year old Cristiana became the youngest of three sisters suddenly faced with growing up in a single-parent home. Unsure of how she would provide the life that she desired for her three baby girls, Lisa knew there were three things she still firmly possessed: God, love and music. That had to be enough.
Cristiana was raised in a Christian home where music was considered just as important as reading and writing. After nearly five years on their own, Cristianaâs family transitioned again. The girls agreed that the new man in momâs life was a perfect fit for everyone.
At age 12, Cristiana was rehearsing for her school talent show one evening when she began to sing Mariah Careyâs âButterflyâ; Cristianaâs parents knew that they were in the presence of something very special. Cristiana sang with such power and control that mom could barely believe her ears. It was overwhelming. No professional training yet she was more skilled than most singers twice her age. Watching her stunned fatherâs eyes well up with tears of joy and astonishment, he could say nothing more than, âWow!â
Cristiana has been âwowingâ people ever since. After the talent show, she was dubbed âThe Golden Voiceâ by her middle school and she quickly found herself surrounded by friends and peers who started coming to her school and choir performances just to hear more.
Cristiana was a featured soloist at both Disneyland and Disneyâs California Adventure and also received a much acclaimed Outstanding Musicianship Award at the Forum Music Festival in Northern California.
In December of 2004, Lisa decided Cristiana was ready to go beyond her community performances. The following Spring, production began for INNOCENT WISDOM. Even before the release of the full CD, the singles were getting great reviews. People raved and some even cried; everyone asked for more. The CD release party was a full house with a CD sell out.
