Dign' Dirt Productions and Patchz of Dirt Publishing was created in 1991 by Granville L. Haynes II, aka "Villain, Dirt Digga." He created this vehicle to express his thoughts and concepts through his lyrics and music.
The name "Villain" defined by Merriam-Webster means an evil person or someone who is a threat to what is morally right. In the case of Dign' Dirt Productions, the name "Villain" was changed from it's author's original meaning and given a totally different meaning. "Villain" is defined as the person who is a threat to what is morally, spiritually and socially wrong. To uncover what has been hidden. As for the name "Dirt Digga" with the third definition of "Dirt" as moral uncleanness or something hidden and the fourth definition of "Dig" as to discover. Villain attempts to bring to you what has been covered up and let you draw your own conclusion.
Villain explores all aspects of life and brings it to you in a conversational format. Just to give you something to think about. The foundation of his lyrics are derived from the concept of "The Battle Between the Flesh and the Spirit" and the true "Game" of the street.
Villain grew up in the urban community of Tulsa, OK. Church and the street have played a major influence in his life. Since the age of nine he has focused on poetry and music. Over the years he has developed his lyrical writing and musical style to make them have a life of their own.
He draws musical influences from the Old School R&B, Funk and Rap/Hip-Hop era and other various styles of music.
Villain's goal is to bring his thoughts and talents to the world and let you find what ever you can from his music, lyrics, and thoughts or in Villain's words "Patches of Dirt."
Villain's mission is to spread the Doctrinal teachings of the Gospel to those that are yearning to have a closure walk with Jesus. Villain has realized that the Spiritual walk and the Fleshly walk is one in the same and that is where the Battle lies. Villain will reach the "Dope man to the Preacher man" and everyone in between.
Villain currently attends Paradise Baptist Church under the teachings of Dr. Sam Holmes Jr.
Villain also mentioned that his lyrics also comes from the concept of the true "Game" on the street. Villain is also a street lyricist that focuses on the whole aspect of the street from the bad to the good. Villain discusses the conscience thought of the street and how it affects urban city communities to the whole world.
