Details:
Levi Burkle, born with a strong love for music, began his musical venture playing the drums. In his late teens, Levi switched his interest to guitar where his true singer/ songwriter gifts began to emerge. It was during this time that Levi began writing the songs for his first album, entitled "Orange", which was released in the summer of 2002.
In August of 2004, Levi recorded his second album "Live". This was a recording of a live performance in Helena, MT with musicians James Hinkley on 'cello and Mark Hutchinson on cornet. The cd was finally released in 2005.
In September of 2004, Levi moved from Helena, MT to Whidbey lsland, WA hoping to further his musical career. He was very quickly discovered as a talent and started playing regularly on the island and throughout the Seattle area with cellist James Hinkley.
During the spring of 2005 Levi released his second album "Live".
In the summer of 2005 Levi worked with director Jordon Albertsen who hired him to do the score for his movie, "The Standard", which was filmed on Whidbey Island and is now playing in film festivals around the world.
In March of 2006 Levi formed a rock band called "Spies from China" with Jeff on the bass, and Holton on the drums. Levi plays guitar, sings and writes all the music for the band.
June, 3rd - "Spies From China" rock their first performance!
Currently Levi is recording an EP for his rock band "Spies From China". He is also working on a solo acoustic album in his private studio. Levi and James Hinkley are performing as a duo throughout the Seattle area and Whidbey Island.
One thing about Levi is that you should expect the unexpected! He can't be placed into one style of music. He loves to experiment with all styles of music as you can tell. Rock, Jazz, Folk, Funk, etc... from live performance to movie scores to practicing in his favorite chair... playing the guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, drums, or whatever makes a sound...
âMy music is hard to classify. One song could be a swingin' jazz tune, the next could be rock, then a nice acoustic ballad. You never really know what you're gonna get, but you will always get a part of me in every song.â
