Details:
Playing his first paying gig at 14 years old, LeDrew has since traveled thousands of miles in his 18-year sojourn in the music business. Some of this time was spent playing solo, other periods were with bands in Toronto, Halifax and St. Johns. During this time he shared the stage with major Canadian acts such as Blue Rodeo, Sam Roberts, Our Lady Peace, Bryan Adams, Great Big Sea and many others. His co-writes are featured on at least 12 East Coast recordings including two Lennie Gallant albums, The Punters Will you Wait, as well as Barry Canning's Soul Parade and Last Man Standing. Songs from these albums garnered much airplay in the region and beyond. Additionally, LeDrew's first CD, 1997's Too Commercial, produced two regional hits and continues to receive airplay on regional and national radio. This album features cameos by Blue Rodeos Greg Keelor, Lennie Gallant, his brother Andrew and more. His 2003 album with Andrew, Brothers In Stereo, was a great success in Atlantic Canada. They toured extensively for three years throughout the East Coast and Central Canada, making a name for themselves as an energetic live act with classic harmonies and timeless songs in the tradition of The Beatles and The Byrds. They won several awards including the 2003 MIANL Rising Star, and were nominated for three ECMAs. LeDrew also plays pedal steel guitar with St. Johns classic country band, The 8-Track Favorites. He does recording sessions on pedal steel as well, and has played on several east coast albums in the past few years. He also does session work as an electric guitarist. Looking back on what has been an amazing journey, LeDrew feels it is once again time to travel the solo road. It has been the only constant in his life, a reliable means of performance that only requires a good-sounding acoustic guitar and a story to tell. LeDrew has compiled a bunch of new songs that he intends to share with an audience who knows they can rely on him to tell an honest, heart-felt tale in song. His new CD will hit shelves in early October 2006.
