Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Lazzaro studied voice performance and opera stage direction at Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio. In New York City he studied directing at Playwrightsâ Horizons Theater, and performed at such venues as Paulsonâs Supper Club, Birdland, The Atrium Club, The Brooklyn Heights Players and with the Carnegie Hall based Collegiate Chorale.

Last summer, Lazzaro was one of 36 singers chosen from an international search for The Cabaret Conference at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut where he studied with cabaret greats including Sally Mayes, Sharon McNight, Julie Wilson and American Idolâs Michael Orland. Lazzaro received a 2005 âDesert Stars Awardâ for his work in Derrik Lewisâ Musical Chairsâ âThatâs Entertainment: The Music of Dietz & Schwartzâ and is a 2006 Desert Stars nominee for his work in Musical Chairsâ âJerryâs Songs: The Music of Jerry Herman.â This fall and next spring Lazzaro will perform throughout Southern California, including the Annenberg Theater, in the premiere of Richard Stoverâs one-man show âDavey Crockett- Hero of the Alamo.â

âI made this recording for Palm Springs event planners and socialites looking to book talent for parties and social functions,â Lazzaro explained. âThe CD is my musical calling card, thank-you note and party favor.â

Lazzaro, like his Musical Director Abravanel, left New York City a few years ago to make his home in Palm Springs. He met Abravanel while working in Derrik Lewisâ Musical Chairs. They have worked together in productions at the Villa Resort and in other Abravanel Artists productions. âWayne Abravanel is a world-class talent and we are fortunate to have him right here in the Coachella Valleyâ Lazzaro said.
