Born in the wilds of Long Island with a fork in one hand and a Victrola in the other, Larry Block was raised on Big Bands and TV dinners. Forced to learn the piano at an early age, he quickly opted to belt out the best of Bowie and the Blues, rather than the bleak Baroque of an earlier generation. He left the security and slickness of the Manhattan art scene for the clarity and coolness of the California Coast.

With guitar in hand he developed his own songwriting style, with hints of Tom Petty and Lucinda Williams thrown in for good measure. The release of his long awaited debut CD, Losing Town, with its catchy country pop sensibility and soulful ballads weave tales of longing and desire, infused with skepticism and hope.
