It would appear that we have some explaining to do for ourselves here. You see, what we have gone and done is created eleven-and-twenty-five-one-hundredths songs and organized them (in recorded format) on a thin (yet sturdy) circular plastic non-edible donut. This process is called making a compact disc (or âC.D.â if you are fond of nicknames). Now please do not panic! This concept, while revolutionary, has been done before once or twice and we promise that after we are through here, you will have a full understanding as to the why we did this, and also, detailed step by step instructions on how to acquire sounds from this C.D.

We Are Off White
âAnd he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.â - Revelation 7:15
This record tells the story of the intimate interaction between the consistently inconsistent human condition and the constant perfection of true divinity. It speaks of personal struggles, reaching our highest highs, grieving during our lowest lows, determined readiness, the frustration of failure, catching ourselves living passively, putting our thoughts into action, hope, love, friendship, living purposefully, being ready, fried chicken, and Pudding. The title âWe Are Off Whiteâ probably makes no sense at all at first listen (I know this from the wonderfully blank look I get every time I tell people what I decided to name this creation). But listen to these songs and you will (hopefully) notice a very strong and somewhat consistent theme of imperfection beautifully encountering perfection. This album was written over a yearlong period of my life. And mostly discusses my adventures/ah hah! moments during that time period.
Many times in the book of Revelations (my favorite book thus far in my travels through scripture⦠Iâm being serious- donât look at me that way) John encounters âwhiteâ- whether itâs hair, a horse, robes, or clouds- all these things seem to be drenched in the hue in question. So what, right? Maybe - but ever since I was a lad I enjoyed the beauty of color, even though I was never very good at coloring inside the lines of my delightful Barney and friends coloring books. But everyone seems to know this âwhiteâ creature. Even color blind people and dogs (who Iâm told see in black and white) know white. So why did God create such a hue that would be known by everything with working eyes? Is it really that important? And who the heck spends their free time thinking of such stupid questions to ask such as this? Well I did (shoot me) and what I discovered is that white is the hue that is to be associated with cleanliness. People spend hundreds of dollars in their lifetime to keep their teeth white. We know something is wrong with someone when their eyeballs are anything but white. That Mr. Clean âmagic eraserâ that is so hyped up right now, guess what, itâs WHITE (and supposedly works wonders on just about anything). Upon more research (this time in the Bible) I discovered that it is also (and more importantly) equivalent to perfection. In Revelation, John observes that everyone who comes to heaven is being draped in white robes, symbolizing that their lives of sin and darkness are indeed finally over, and they can go on to be in the constant presence of he who is perfect, and be like him all the time. How freaking cool! Certainly seems like something to strive for. However, it is frustrating to look at that, and then look at my own life and realize that I am in no way worthy of such a hue- and never can be. In this life here on earth, you and I will always fall short of perfection, we can never be pure white- we will always be a blemish- a spot that stands off white. But this struggle to be like the one who is worthy of ownership of said word, makes us realize just how beautiful and glorious it will be when we will finally exchange our dirtied lives to being the proud owners of those white robes, showing that all our stains have been washed away forever- and we will not be adding any more, ever.



How to operate a Compact Disc
1. Remove Compact Disc from C.D. Jacket
2. Turn C.D. around and look into it
3. Smile at your reflection
4. Locate a stereo, computer, or some form of C.D. compatible audio system.
5. Locate the eject/ load C.D. button on said audio system.
6. Use index finger to press firmly on button explained in step 5.
7. Insert C.D. (mirror side down) into the C.D. tray.
8. Repeat step 6.
9. Press âplayâ on your audio system.
10. Sit down in your throne of choice and enjoy what could be a decent musical experience.
