Some people simply do things and others were born to do them. Just ask Dreamz R Real Entertainment's L.G (Lord's Gift): "I'm not your typical MC. I have a college degree, I don't gang bang or go back and forth to jail but I'm probably better than your favorite rapper."

For the past two years the East Flatbush, Brooklyn M.C. has used his oratory gift, bountiful charisma and masterful ebb-n-flow to simultaneously engage the music industry and mainstream media via his two stellar and highly acclaimed Street albums, Industry Co-Sign and Industry Co-Sign II: The 14 tracks Of Power. Having worked with some of your favorite artist's favorite producers, like Alchemist (Nas and 50 Cent), Denaun Porter (Eminem and D-12), Scram Jones (Mariah Carey and Lloyd Banks) and Midi Mafia (Young Buck and Fantasia) L.G. has garnered some pretty impressive national loveââthe Source Magazine's historic column Unsigned Hype, the L.A. Times and MTV.com, who stated in November 2004 that L.G.'s Industry Co-Sign II CD was "hotter than the final four episodes of HBO's The Wire." "The past year or so has been nothing short of a blessing," says the 6'4 rapper. "It means the world when you pour your heart into music and work your ass off to get it heard and its appreciated by the masses. From California to Atlanta to back home, they know I'm the next rap star."

Today, Lord's Gift is pillared by his third street LP, Industry Cosign III: The Difference. His best and most personal work thus far, the Delaware State University Mass Communications major released a collection of songs from him directly to the fans. While billing heavyweight names such as DJ Drama and Kay Slay, it's L.G.'s open book policy that supplies the muscles on this CD. He addresses his heroin-addicted father on "Hey Mister," small-minded A&Rs on the Paul Wall and David Banner assisted "Underdog" and the ills in and out of his community on "Here Witcha" (which is also L.G.'s first video, co-starring HBO's Entourage guest actor and Atlantic Records rapper Saigon). By completely giving himself to his fans, LG hopes his past and current struggles will offer comfort to those whose obstacles parallel his. "People need artists that can make them feel different emotions with each song because expressing emotion helps people learn themselves. There aren't many things more powerful than a person with a complete identity," says LG. "So if you're ready to open your mind, I'm ready to be your voice." Let's do this y'all.
