Notes from the Artist about this CD.

In 2002 I travelled to Copenhagen to research a feature film called âBlindedâ, the art design of which was based on the little know Danish painter Vilhem Hammershoi. In 2005 I was delighted to be asked to compose music for a BBC documentary about this relatively unknown artist whose work I greatly admire.

The music on this CD was recorded in August 2005 and the tracks are in the same order as they appear in the programme. The documentary was first broadcast on BBC 1 in July 2005, presented by Michael Palin. The programme was directed by Eleanor Yule and produced by Mhairi McNeil.

About the Artist.

Young Adam starred Ewan McGregor and for this movie Malcolm worked as string arranger for David Byrne. Recent TV credits include dramas for ITV, BBC and BBC Scotland, with documentaries for BBC 1, BBC 2, and Discovery. He has/is working with various bands including the Moors, the Delgados and the Willard Grant Conspiracy.

Malcolm's classical compositions have been performed internationally, from Moscow to Mexico and his ventures into jazz have earned him a Sennheiser Jazz award.
