Neon Leon's "Hometown Country" songs all have a story and feature outstanding instrumental work by Leon and other Tulsa pickers.
12 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Country Blues, COUNTRY: Western Swing
Details:
Neon Leon sings and plays a beat-up guitar, ruined steel guitar, and worn-out harmonica through various ancient amplifiers. His musical instruments are in and out of pawn shops depending on his financial needs. His musical training took place in roadhouses and honky-tonks throughout the lower 48 states. Leon lives in various trailer parks and transient motels along Admiral Boulevard in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The collection of songs on "haircut" was written over a period of time when Leon lived in Texas and California. After settling in Tulsa, Leon met studio owner David Montgomery. This album was recorded at David's recording studio, Working In Grace Productions, with help from several notable Tulsa pickers including fiddler Shelby Eicher, vocalist Rusti Love, and bassist "Tex" Waggoner.
