Aztek was born and raised in the Valley of California, the SJV, the heart of the golden state. He first hit the rap scene as "Aztek Prince" in the group "A Touch of Brown Magic" and signed to a small record label Underground Sounds. His group opened up shows for groups like A Lighter Shade of Brown, Proper Dos, Aztlan Underground, etc. He was out of the scene but got back and recorded his first single tape "Representin Central Cali" under his new and own record label Dangerous Sounds. Soon after he recorded his first album "Aztec Gold". The independent album did so good that the stores had trouble keeping enough in stock. His album hit different rap magazines, including the Illtip Magazine and was rated the highest for that issue.
Then after offers from about six different record labels, he signed a major record contract to major label New Hustle Entertainment/AME/BMG. Since, he has signed deals with Thump Records, Aries Music Entertainment, Brown Man Productions, Associated Distributors Incorporated, and more. Artistic differences persuaded Aztek to create his own label (Dangerous Sounds Productions). Aztek says " I'm making way for all the latin rappers and singers to bring a new sound to the world". His new album, and first major album "Barrio Prophecies" hit the stores in October and DSP is proudly promoting it as one of best latin rap albums ever.
