Is there a bigger gap between natural science and music, the understanding of physical facts and the devotion and dedication to an art of wrapping emotions and feelings into words and acoustic elements?
In Felishaâs heart there isnât!
Felisha Newfarmer, born in 1984 as the only child of a salesman and a housewife, has an emotional soul that cannot help following her heart. So she dared to do the splits between studying natural science and realizing her dearest dream:
she introduces herself to the world with her debut album âWhen feelings implodeâ.
She started writing poems at the age of seven. The importance of just a piece of paper and a pencil hasnât faded until now. Besides she started drawing, then painting in oils and dancing '" still always coming back to writing. She also learned to play the piano and additionally spent some time on experimenting with a keyboard.
After some weeks of writing poems '" one night in November 2002 on a drive back home her Dad suggested: âWhy donât you set your poems to music?â. No idea why not '" and from that night on Felisha did. In the following years she wrote songs and started programming music on computers, to create a sound due to the message of the songs.
Suffering from the arbitrariness in school and her deep love for creativity made her turn to natural science. She learned to separate studies and music. In a certain way natural science guarantees a ââ¬Ëright or wrongâ. Words and music ainât meant to be right or wrong, they are âa matter of taste that responds to the emotion one gets in a certain situation, a certain experience in lifeâ. Felisha writes about her own experiences in life and for her the ability to have emotions makes a human heart and soul. In âWhen feelings implodeâ she brings across this message:
âI just love the deal that I feel.â
