ROCK: Progressive Rock, ROCK: Math Rock
Details:
the next extension is a progressive rock band from West Suffield, CT. It consists of vocalist Brandon Postemski, Maurice Christopher Deprey, Dan Cahill, and Ryan Makaravitz. The four members were brought together by the passion to make meaningful music that which the local scene has not yet seen. From a past full of fallen bands ranging from straight up hardcore/post-hardcore emo, to experimentalâ¦between these four members its all been done. They came together as a whole around the spring of 2005 and have since grown musically together as one. Since the humble beginning of cheap demo recordings and basement jam sessions the band has become the central drive for every member. Since playing their first show on New Years eve of 2005/06, theyâve become a force to be reckon with. They swept a battle of the bands which was held at Pearl Street night club in North Hampton, Mass. Competing against 70 other bands and two rounds of competition it was a hands down unanimous decision. With the win under the belt and free recording time coming to them as a result, they set out playing shows around western Mass. and Northern Ct., venues such as Pearl Street, Cabot Street Pub, T-Ville Tavern, Sullys Pub in Hartford, Maximum Capacity in Chicopee. By the end of winter/beginning of spring 2006 they were in the studio recording what would be their debut ep. âfemme fatale.â Playing shows on a steady basis, the band headed on to play the world famous CBGBs in New York City and moved more into the Ct. scene playing Up or on the Rocks in Hartford. The band was nominated in âthe best new bandâ and âbest emo groupâ catagories for the âHartford Advocate Grand Band Slam.â With more and more shows lining up across Mass. and Ct. along with the release of their debut ep. âfemme fataleâ on September 29, 2006 along with merchandise, the band is in high hopes to be on tour as soon as possible to promote the release.
