Nevada was formed in the summer of 2003 in Asheville, NC by its main songwriters Sean Robbins, Kevin Stanford and Vickie Burick. With the addition of Hunter Kalman on bass and Rick Shore on drums the band started to find its place. Recording for their first album began in March 2005 at Six Foot Seven Studios and was finished at Altamont Recording and Hi-Five Recording in Asheville, NC. Their debut album, The Sunlight and the Sound was released on July 22nd, 2006. Various tracks include guest performances by Asheville musicians: Todd Kelley (Sparklehorse), Lauren Brown (Grace Cathedral Park, Knives and Daggers), Chris Mondia (The Green Fields), and Wayne Robbins (Wayne Robbins and the Hellsayers). The nine tracks include: Flier's Dream, I've Got A Way To Go, She's Gone, and The Sunlight and the Sound.
