Honest sonic portraits from 3 different points of view, the creative "what's next" from this eclectic acoustic trio.
15 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Power-folk, ROCK: Americana
Details:
The "New 3rd Coast" is a trio of musicians who come together to bring us their unique âPower Folk, Leelanau County styleâ sound. Their strong three-part harmonies, combined with diverse instrumental musical expression, have created a large following throughout Northwestern Lower Michigan and beyond. The trio includes Patrick Niemisto on bass, fiddle, mandolin, guitar and vocals; Bryan Poirier on guitar and keyboards, John Kumjian on guitar, harmonica, conga/percussion, and bass. All three are songwriters and their work is celebrated as âeclectic and refreshingâ in content and delivery.
N3C plays regularly in the Northwest Michigan area, as well as being seen on the stages in more far flung places including The Ark, The Aten Barn, various Quiet Faith Productions venues, clubs and private parties from Copper Harbor to Detroit, as well as regional and local Michigan Festivals. Recent collaborations include concerts with Bill Staines, Robin Lee Berry, Michael Camp,Beans, Denice Franke, and Jim Crockett. It is not uncommon to see these diverse musicians along side some of the finest players in the area as sidemen. Currently, they have several CD's of original music available, two of which are "3rd Coast" releases. The boys also have original solo efforts, and often are found on compilation recordings, as well as CD's by other local artists. Currently, N3C is working on a new recording with the newest configuration of personnel, due out summer â05. Along with original music, the "New 3rd Coast" is known to extend its repertoire with a wide selection of cover tunes in a variety of musical styles. Their performances are exciting and appropriate for all age groups and venues.
Completely self-managed and self-contained, the trio continues to develop a devoted following.
