"This guy really sounds like James Taylor. Certain aspects of his voice have that warm, right in your face quality."
-UNSIGNED magazine, Oct. 2006
Nat Sharrattâs debut album, âWalkinâ in Paradise,â reflects the spirit of Natâs life, by bringing the Spirit into traditional and acoustic rock. It is not religious music, but the new genre of âSpiritual Rock,â which transcends the boundaries of religion and sees the oneness of all people. The songs reflect the journey of Natâs life, both the outer journeyâs from his home in Los Angeles, to Hawaii (which inspired the title song), to Africa (hence the cover), and the inner journey of awakening the loving inside. Along with his best friend, spiritual teacher and N.Y. Times #1 Bestselling author, Dr. John-Roger, and their good friend, fellow minister and music veteran, Brad Pie, Walkinâ in Paradise was conceived.
Having played professionally for over 35 years, Brad Pieâs resume includes playing lead guitar for the Johnny Otis Show (including playing on the Grammy nominated record "Spirit of the Black Territory Bandsâ), as well as playing with the likes of Richard Berry, Chuck Rio, Rosie Hamlin, The Drifters, The coasters (etc), opening for Ike and Tina Turner and the Isely Brothers, and having backed up the likes of Chuck Berry and R.B. Greeves. Brad brings to Walkinâ in Paradise that element of good, old-fashioned rock ân Roll that has made people fall in love with the genre for the past 6 decades.
For over 40 years, Dr. John-Roger has traveled the world guiding people to find the Spirit within themselves, and teaching how to live a healthy, loving, peaceful and rewarding life. He was a constant source of inspiration, guidance and direction during the creation of âWalkinâ in Paradise.â He supported every step of the way, from creation of the music through completion of the project. The music was created, and continues still, based on the spiritual foundation supplied by Dr. John-Roger.
