âRockalicious,â the debut single by NYCE, invites you to experience his unique blend of Hip-Hop and club banging party tracks. NYCE is one of music's most unique and charismatic new talents to break out of New York. This Harlem native started out as DJ Kid NYCE, but as he grew with his trade as a DJ so did his skills as an MC. NYCE started to gain a rep around the way as an ill party MC. He was known to write catchy songs that all the girls and fellas alike in his hood could feel. He became the party MC. Having always known his future was in the rap game, NYCE started going into the studio and lay his music down. However in the mist of all his efforts, NYCE got caught up in the drug game and did a small bid. He came out even more focused and ready to get back to his music.
In 2005, a mutual friend introduced NYCE to super producers Slick & Jones from 2Tone Entertainment. Their beats were a perfect match for his smooth flow. The three went directly in the studio where they recorded for 6 months partially in NY and partially in Miami. The result was pure magic, which gave rise to the club bangers âRockalicious,â âSquat,â âNastyâ and many other hit singles.
Now twenty years old, NYCE draws from all personal experiences and hardships to express himself in his music. NYCE says, âI donât just write about the negative things in my life, I write about the positive and the good as well. I like to have a good time and I like to share my experiences with others. No one is just negative or positive. Weâre both. So I reflect the good, the bad, the ugly⦠and the Party!
I feel like my music moves beyond the manufactured urban image of what a fella should or shouldnât be.â NYCE considers âRockaliciousâ to be a true hardcore / new wave party record and is proud to have it as his first single.
Itâs just a matter of time before âRockaliciousâ moves up the chart and emanates over the airwaves. This rising star is destined to be among the music industry's greats.
