North of Grand formed in March 2003. Since then, Sean Wilson (vocals, guitar), Dan Ketelsen (bass), and Pat Curtis (drums, backing vocals) have created two albums full of catchy, raise your fist in the air rock. A new 7-song EP is scheduled for release in 2006.

The name "North of Grand" comes from the area in Des Moines where the band frequents bars that line Ingersoll Avenue (just north of Grand Avenue). It's a blue-collar, no nonsense neighborhood that is reflected in the band's straight-up, no apologies style of rock n roll.
