Hard Rockin' veterans D.B.Bonham and Matt Chiapuzio with that classic 80âs monster guitar thang guaranteed to turn your crank and light your lover's fire.
12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, ROCK: 80's Rock
Details:
Independently released in 1998, veteranâs D.B.Bonham and Matt Chiapuzio collaborated on this incredible album. This CD is a genuine âno holds barredâ rock experience that will âtake you to a place where the river flowsâ!
Written and produced by Bonham and Chiapuzio, âReal Worldâ was recorded at the infamous Don Ross Studio in Eugene, Oregon. Don Ross, who engineered the project, has Grammy credentials and an impressive list of artists he has worked with over the years. The title track âReal Worldâ was recorded both at Pro-Arts Recording Studio (Tony Proveaux, engineer) and Don Ross Studio. Ross stated that Bonham has one of the strongest gutsy voices for a rock singer that heâs worked with. We guess that came with his 20+ years of experience playing the honky tonks, dives, and rock ân- roll drudgery west of the Mississippi.
Bonham, older brother of Tracy Bonham (âBurdens of Being Upright / Island Recordsâ, âDown Here / Island Def Jam Music Groupâ, âBlink the Brightest / Rounder Zoe Recordsâ, âLiverpool Sessions / Cherry Hillâ, and âBee / Darn Darn Dan Dan Broke The Bubby Musicâ) shines, chimes, and amplifies as lead vocalist. And at 42, he is still the powerhouse that rocked across the US west coast during the 70âs and 80âs. Bonham played with The Legendary Eden Express, Ziller, and The Others.
Matt Chiapuzio plays guitar as does Big John swings a sledge, with precision, conviction, and abandoned frenzy. With infectious boyhood playfulness, heâll rip and zip through licks on his ax leaving smiles as wide as a mile.
Together Bonham and Chiapuzio collaborated and enlisted the services of some truly talented folks. First and foremost, the Notorious Nobodys are D.B.Bonham/lead & backing vocals, Matt Chiapuzio/guitars, Jeff Conway/guitars, Chuck Walls/drums, and Bob Briot/bass. Special guest appearances included Lilly Liver/vocals & violin on the title track âReal Worldâ, and Shelley James/vocals on âFools gameâ, âHold onâ, âStanding in the rainâ, and âWe can flyâ. And last, but not least, the powerhouse horns of Tim Clarke/trumpet & arranger, Ross Warren/alto & tenor sax, and John MacDonald/trombone are found pumpinâ and humpinâ on âDoctor in the houseâ, âExcuse meâ, âRunning after your loveâ, and âLawbreakerâ.
This is a truly kick ass CD with some cool elements to boot. Bonham adds piano on âBeaver Marshâ and âWe can flyâ, and drums on the title track. And with the Rattleshack Choir (too many names to mention) on âExcuse meâ, this album is stacked and packed, and ready to jump start the party! One must ponderâ¦... âIs Beaver Marsh a place or simply a state of mind?â
If you like this, check out D.B.Bonhamâs 2005 solo release âLife of Easeâ or the alter-ego psychedelic band Reefer Punks two releaseâs âPlay it Loudâ and âSon of Play it Loudâ.
