Modern classical romantic ambient piano solos with rich harmonies, reflective moods and passionate melodies.
13 MP3 Songs
CLASSICAL: Contemporary, NEW AGE: Ambient
Details:
Nicholas Frost, classically trained composer and pianist, has created a solo piano album that melds improvisatory classical piano compositions with through-composed pieces that garner inspiration from very diverse sources, including Debussy, Ravel, Eric Satie, Rachmaninoff, Wagner, Albeniz, Chopin, Liszt, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner, Ravi Shankar and even Thelonious Monk.
Despite these subliminal influences, however, Mr Frost's music is not a commodity, and gains strengtn from remaining outside the mainstream. His long-term interest in jazz and rock improvisation as well as ambient concepts, has converged into a free, highly expressive, passionate style that pays homage to his training in the classical repertoire, yet seeks the freedom of pure improvisation. Continuous melody and romantic harmonies redolent of late 19th and early 20th century composers underpin the passionate attempt to achieve that freedom.
Disciplined compositional techniques, however, also combine to create complex structures, delicate threads and powerful climaxes.
