Hey Everybody! Thanks for dropping by and welcome to my latest batch of original songs. If you just wandered in, welcome and please have a look around, if you came here by way of my main website (bggs.net - Brett Gregory Guitar Studio) and are interested in guitar lessons with me, Brett Allen Gregory (at my Pleasanton, California studio) please have a listen to some of the music clips on the left. All of the clips here are from my latest release of solo acoustic guitar music. Here are the track listings and song stories for Wyoming:

1. Wyoming: A musicians wanted ad posted saying, "Wanted- someone, prefer fellow musician, to travel to Wyoming with me and my tin cup, never been there but the picture on the tin cup sure looks nice." Thought it might make a good story.

2. Wanderlust: All about my moonlight fever and the effect it has on me (and those around me).

3. "Hey, Guess What?": This is a saying that my two boys & I have been saying to each other since they were able to talk.
One of us will ask the other "Hey, Guess What?"
To which the other will reply: "What?"
"I love you!"
"I love you too."
And so this song emerged out of that, my love for Luke and Jake and my hope that I will be with them for many years to come

4. Feels Like Texas: I walked outside from my studio one night and I could smell Navy Perfume and it made me think of Misty, Steve and Angie, my three good friends from Texas. On the night I recorded the song my Dad called me to tell me his Mom had passed away (the night before) after she spent a week in a coma due to a stroke. Grandma Gregory was 90 years old, born in 1913 in Texas. She is not in the lyrics but this song took on a whole new meaning as I recorded it that night after Dad told me the news. She got to see her Great-Grand sons, Luke & Jake, for the first time a few weeks prior to her stroke. It was her 90th birthday and she smiled the whole day as she watched them play. Good bye Grandma, and thank you for all the love you gave me.

5. Used To Be: The Chorus popped into my head and then the rest of the song slowly took shape over the next year. Who knows where the chorus came from, it just 'arrived' and then I had to make a song around it. My inspiration for the rest of the song was primarily from the disintegration of my band, Crossroads, and the enlightening (and sad) interactions I had with some former band members afterwards.

6. Round Here: Written for Debra (the flute-instructor-chick :-) after she suddenly departed for the east coast after breaking up with her boyfriend.

7. Gypsy Blood: An Auto-Biographical (no pun intended) song about my cars, my life on the road so to speak, and finally growing up to accept the responsibility of a family and being a good Dad. The pictures on the front/back of the CD Jewel case are of my old cars. I sold both of them on ebay in the summer of 2002. It was time to let go of a lot of outdated things and ideas.

All songs were recorded with an AKG C-414B-ULS set to omni into a Fostex VF160 digital recorder. The raw tracks were imported digitally to my computer and processed with N-Tracks software. My main guitar was a Breedlove C25R except for Round Here on which I played a Takamine CD132SC.

My goodness are you still reading this stuff??? Well, since you've been so dedicated and read the whole thing like good little boys and girls, I will let you in on a little secret... on the Wyoming CD in mp3 format is an extra song. Not just any old song my fellow babies but an extra, extra special song. In fact, contained deep within the buffalo roaming digital fields of my new CD, you will find amazing, never before heard, actual audio proof that Elvis is indeed alive and walking among us as a secret government agent. Buy the CD and listen as Elvis sings his new, ... but wait I have already said too much and I fear that these web pages may have ears my friends. Act natural, say nothing, calmly purchase the CD, do not look the sales clerk directly in the eye and remember, repeat nothing of what you have heard here. Be well and we will meet again.
