THE STORY OF THE NINJAVIDUALS

The Ninjaviduals were formed in Winnetka, Illinois in late 2004 when someone broke his arm in a scooter accident.

It was decided that Joe Presser would play keyboards, his brother Eastman Presser would play drums, local âfun-manâ Josh Rodin would play guitar, and Joe Winer would play bass guitar. Combining their talents, The Ninjaviduals created a sound entirely their own, consisting of cool rock music with a beat you can dance to. They began writing songs and practicing in the Presserâs attic, a place that rock history would not soon forget.

Soon after their creation, The Ninjaviduals started playing shows at all the local venues such as âThe Winnetka Youth Center,â âThe Warming House,â and âThe Highland Park Borders: Books Music and Café.â People welcomed the new sound into their emo-ridden neighborhood. The Ninjaviduals built a fan-base featuring all sorts of great people. They all liked to dance. The Ninjaviduals are not actually ninjas, although they do have a friend who is a ninja. His name is John Benjamin, and he is one of their biggest supporters.

With the assistance of some guy named Taylor, The Ninjaviduals entered the Emergenza competition and played shows all over Chicago at venues such as âThe Note,â âThe Double Door,â and âThe Metro.â They really enjoyed themselves. As it turned out, even people of legal drinking age could enjoy The Ninjaviduals. After reaching the North American finals of the competition, they decided it was time to record an album.

In spring of 2006 The Ninjaviduals went to Chicago and met a man named Edgars Legsdinz at a place called Blue Room Studio. A musician of sorts himself, Edgars said he would record their album, and after two weekends of fun, adventure, lots of sandwiches, and some hard work, âNinjaphobia!â was complete. Everyone was truly proud of what they had accomplished. Although The Ninjaviduals and Edgars never saw each other ever again, their friendship lives on.

One day, The Ninjaviduals happened to be walking through Wilmette when their arch nemesis, a ninja, began to chase them! They ran and ran, and as they passed Wilmette Village Hall their friend Bo Olson happened to take a picture. Luckily, The Ninjaviduals escaped from the ninja. They decided that the picture of the event would make a fitting cover. And so it was.

So eventually, âNinjaphobia!â was truly completed. The album was picked up by Secret Box Records as their first official release. The Ninjaviduals and their fans enjoy the new album, and now itâs online so that everyone can enjoy it. Isnât that really cool?

The Ninjaviduals pretty much stopped playing shows after half of the band went away to college. However, they say that if you walk by the Presserâs attic the right time of day you can still hear those boys playinâ their cool beats.
