Scrumptious lyrics, pure voice, with inventive fingerpicking on 6- & 12-string guitars.
7 MP3 Songs
FOLK: like Joni, COUNTRY: Country Folk
Details:
Nina Jo Smith is a natural-born Indie Grrl (born on the 4th of July). She accompanies her sweet voice and wry, wise lyrics with clean, inventive fingerpicking on 6- and 12-string guitars. Recently she's also begun exploring the Temple (aka Tipple) guitar, thanks to Wayne Perkins, who described its use by some great Muscle Shoals studio cats.
For many years, Nina Jo devoted herself to anti-violence work. She studied martial arts, taught self-defense to more than a thousand people. Now she brings the focus, passion and grace of the martial arts to her music.
"I like a song that can travel seamlessly from sublime to ridiculous and back again. And I believe in melody." Nina Jo calls her style mystical folkabilly.
