The first tune on my CD "Heaven's Dove" is an original song, written by internationally known song writer JB Rudd. JB has written songs for Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, George Jones, John Michael Montgomery, just to mention a few. Heaven's Dove is very special because he wrote it for his dear friend Martin when Martin's mother died. I was totally honored when they asked me, if I would like to record it.

About the Artist: Nita Adams
Born in Edenton, North Carolina and happily married for 18 years. My husband Robert is retired from the Coast Guard... I have been an Independent Distributor of Premier Designs Jewelry the past 14 years..
I have always loved to sing. As a little girl, I would walk down the shore of sandy point beach listening to the waves, and hearing the wind blow over the sound. I would walk to the nearby underpass and as cars rushed over the bridge, and the loud engines roared, I would sit and sing in the calm of all the noise above me. The acoustics from under the bridge would echo my voice and it would give me such an inner peace. I have always found comfort in singing.
My junior year I was asked to sing a few solos in Concert Choir. I was elected to sing with the Ensemble Choir my senior year, and I also had a singing part, in the musical âCarouselâ. Twenty years later, I became involved with Encore Theater and was in the musical âCabaretâ.
In 1996 I accepted Christ in my Life. I asked God to use me for His Glory. I have been singing a lot the past few years. I was asked to lead the Praise & Worship service in our last church where we were members for 6 years.
I was asked to lead the Praise & Worship Service in my current church 4 years ago when Pastor Joey came by to invite us to his new church. The past few years I have sung in over 130 different denominational churches, Non-Profits or Christian events. I simply love the Lord and I love to sing and worship God everyday of my life.
I have worked with the youth Praise & Worship Team in my current church to help prepare them to lead the worship service twice a month. I have been asked to sing for many Revivals, Camp Meetings, Church Ladies Circles, Menâs Bible Study, Men's and Women's Prayer Breakfasts, Pastor Appreciation Dinners, Gideon Banquets. A-Day-A-Part Ministries. I was asked to sing and be the key note speaker for the Northeastern Methodist Youth Leadership Conference held at Kill Devil Hills, NC.
The first time I was ever asked to speak was several years ago for the Emmaus 4th Day Talk. This proved to be a real challenge and many blessings soon followed. Being a cancer survivor myself, I have been asked to participate in many Relay for Life Events.
I have been asked to minister in song, and speak on "Hope" and "Relationships" for Burgaw Baptist WMU Quarterly Ladies banquet. I have been asked to sing for the Albemarle, and the Currituck Hope Line Candlelight Vigil for battered Women. God has blessed this music ministry.
When I am singing the energy comes from my inner spirit and is so intense the hearts of the audience can feel the power of the spirit and are moved to join me in praising our Heavenly Father. The forgiveness Iâve received is delivered in a powerful display of musical energy. Emotions connect, melodies soar and Jesus Christ is lifted up.
Mission Statement:
To be the musical instrument God intended me to be, filled with His spirit, shining in His Glory and reaching just one soul that may not know Him.
Churches are struggling, but we are learning to depend on God in new ways, and to rethink what it means to be the church. My prayer is to be a Light in a dark and dying world, and to be used in a mighty way to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in sharing my heart and in song. I am an empty vessel praying to be used for His Glory.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20
My husband accepted the call to ministry four years ago. We have stepped out in Faith and are following the call on our lives. God is opening many doors, and we just Praise His name and Thank Him..
Jesus gave us the job of reaching the lost two thousand years ago. This job still remains undone. We have a burning desire in our hearts, to come to your church to share God's Word, to edify the body of Christ, and to minister to the needs of God's people with words of Encouragement, the promise of Eternal Life, and the Hope of a future.

Albemarle Hope Line, a friend of Nita & Robert Adams
Today, as I watched my friend speak, heard his wife sing and saw my husbandâs face, I knew that God had led us to this place, to this moment.
Many years ago (about 10 or so) I was having a bad hair attack. Iâve had many since and generally ignored them but on that particular day I got out the phone book and located a salon that took pity on me. As I sat in the chair a beautiful young woman entered the establishment and introduced herself to the shop owner. Her name was Nita Adams. She was promoting her âin homeâ nail business and her spirit grabbed me. I had the most ragged nails God ever assigned to a woman and usually hid my hands. Nitaâs exuberance attracted me and we began chatting. Within minutes she had me convinced that I was not forever doomed to have the hands of a construction worker, that she could do wonders for me. And wonders she did! I began seeing Nita every few weeks and she transformed my paws into hands of which I was quite proud. But thatâs not the important part. We struck up a friendship that will last a lifetime. She did, however, once square off my nails rather than round them, leaving my fingers somewhat resembling an attractive picket fence, and on another occasion, scheduled herself too tightly and ran off to do something for Premier leaving her husband Robert to finish off my nails. We laughed a lot together, prayed together and all ended well.
Nita was a Christian woman and had been an independent distributor for Premier Designs Jewelry for some time. We held hands across the nail table for a couple of years, sharing our faith, complaining about our husbands and counting our blessings. Nita knew all about my two timber wolves and every amazing, endearing thing that Big Jake did. And I knew that Nita grew up a princess, looking for her white knight to rescue her. I met and grew to love her mother, who often shared her crafts with me â I still have beautiful pressed flowers that resemble a butterfly in a frame around somewhere. And my mother-in-law and sister-in-law wore her beautifully beaded shirts that Nita's mom made for us.
Nitaâs association with Premier Designs put her in contact with other Christian women (Premier is a Christian based company that puts God at the center of their organization and expects itâs employees to do the same). Over time I met members of her down-line, an incredible group of women and began to realize that they had something that I wanted to be a part of. Nita had been telling me how well I would do in Premier and I had been blowing her off for a while. One Tuesday night in November I picked up the phone and called Nita, telling her, finally, that I wanted to be involved with Premier. As Premier Jewelry is a family oriented organization, the first step is for the sponsoring family (Nita and Robert) to sit down with the fledgling family (my husband and me) to go over the program. Nita immediately said, âcome tomorrow night!â so on one chilly evening in November, when the rest of the world was cooking away, filling the house with delicious smells in anticipation of Thanksgiving dinner the next day, the four of us, Nita, Robert, Vic and I, gathered around the Adamsâ kitchen table (and not for the last time) while Nita and Robert gave a very professional presentation of the Premier jewelry business. I was hooked, Vic was supportive and we were all hungry. As usual, Nita had something good brewing on the stove and we ravished a bowl of her mouth watering Brunswick stew. Years later, when I had been stricken down with a stroke, Nita sent Brunswick stew to me to nourish my body and my soul. It will always be one of my favorite comfort foods.
My time with the Adamsâ Premier family was filled with the love and support of other Christians. My friendship with Robert and Nita grew daily. One January (I donât have the money for this-God will provide- and He did, of course) Nita and Robert encouraged me to accompany them and other distributors to a national Premier Rally in Nashville, Tennessee. The gathering was to be held at the Opera-land Hotel so you can imagine the cost, but I really, really, really wanted to be a part of this and I guess God really, really, really wanted me to be there as well because he provided the finances and even found me a last minute bed in a room with three other Christian women. We had a Bible reading before bedtime each night in our pj's and face creams. Although I had known God most of my life, I had never had such an intimate experience with other Christians as I experienced during that Rally. There were daily worship sessions with the attendees scattered in many groups; womenâs groups, menâs groups, groups of âfull-time employed outside of Premierâ, self help groups, groups for the bald, blue-eyed, left-handed. The Adams' gang were usually scattered but Premier offered something for everyone. About the third day, there was something different about Robert at the morning service. He was sitting beside me and when we sang âMake Me a Blessingâ I realized that there were tears in Robertâs eyes. Like a blow to the head I realized the change! Robert had known about God, but Robert had not known God. Robert had accepted Christ! Tearfully and fiercely and tearfully again I hugged the new Christian and his lovely wife, then I praised God for allowing me to be a part of that experience. We remained friends.
A year or so later, I implored upon Nita to sing for a candlelight vigil that Albemarle Hope line was hosting at the waterfront to honor survivors of domestic violence. Not only did I ask her to sing, but I told her which song I wanted incorporated into the service. "The greatest Love of all" Nita said, âYou know, Helen, Iâve sung in church but Iâve never sung in public.â My cocky response was something like, âwell, itâs time you did.â And she did. And it was glorious.
And now, how many years later? Robert stands before me, Bible in hand, discarding the microphone, and speaking from his heart. And my husband who has eased away from God, just a tiny bit, is enthralled. And the lovely, talented Nita, who has encouraged me and was encouraged by me, is making a professionally mastered gospel CD. And today has been such a blessing.
And I was there at the beginning. Our God is so good.

Nita Adams, a contemporary Christian singer, has released her first CD after five years of performing for area churches and fundraising events.
Nita Adams
At 47 Adams is no newcomer to performing but "For His glory, my offering" marks the Edenton native's first CD release. After five years of performing for churches and various groups Adams says it was high time she head to the recording studio.
"I've been singing the past five years in churches and I've had people ask me for a CD," says Adams. "After hearing that I thought maybe I needed to make a CD."
So she and husband Robert Adams set out for Nashville, Tenn. to make Adams' first album. But an old friend got in the way, sort of.
Fellow Edenton native J.B. Rudd had returned from a fruitful music-industry career in Nashville as a song writer, when Adams ran into him in a Windsor eatery. The old friends started talking and one thing led to another.
Rudd told Adams he and Martin Parker were in the process of building a recording studio in Edenton; could she wait for them to finish and record her album there, instead of Nashville? Adams' answer was yes.
It's one of many instances that Adams says she believes God was guiding her. And that's why, she says, she named the CD "For His glory, my offering."
"This is my offering. This is what I have," she says.
Adams' path to performing wasn't exactly a natural fit. She says performing as a solo artist in front of church congregations and the like was probably the last thing on her mind at one time.
Even when she began singing in church choirs, she says she lacked the confidence to stand with the group and sing in front of people.
"Oh my gosh. The first time I was singing in church I asked the pastor if there was any way I could stand behind the curtain and he said 'absolutely not,'" recalls Adams.
But Adams overcame her fear of performing. Partly, she says, due to her years as a representative for a high-end jewelry line but mostly, she emphasizes, due to her "love for the Lord."
In fact, Adams performances are not just about singing contemporary Christian music. She and husband Robert now make up a two-person ministry, a result of his desire to become ordained and the couple's commitment to their faith.
"I could have never done this without him," Adams says of husband Robert. The couple now travels to churches preaching and singing under the banner of For His Glory Ministries. Adams' CD is available online www.forhisgloryministries.net and in area stores around the Albemarle region.

Where once men sat sipping on bottles of soda pop on the porch dusty with fertilizer, now sits guys keeping time with their toes, talking about the latest thing to come out of Nashville.
Martin Parker's recording studio, 7 Pines, is the latest hot spot for yet-to-be discovered talent. Located in his great grandfather's country store, Parker offers a high tech studio ready for something big.
"Somebody's going to walk through that door who has written what will be a hit song or record a hit album here," Parker said.
Nita Adams, reared on Paradise Farm in Edenton, hopes it's her debut album that will be the next big thing. Adams recently finished recording a Christian-inspired album, "For His Glory My Offering" at 7 Pines Studio.
Backed up by Parker--a Grammy winning drummer whose resume includes keeping the beat for Ricky Scaggs, Alison Krauss, and Patty Loveless, among others-Adams has high hopes, but knows from where the soul of her album grew.
"My husband Robert and I prayed about recording this album and found a studio in Nashville that could do the recording in three days. But God had a different plan." Adams said. "I ran into songwriter J.B. Rudd in Windsor, and he asked me if I was still singing. He said Martin was building a studio if I wasn't in any hurry it would be completed in a few months. Martin contacted me was very interested in working together on this project. I know this is where God wanted me to make my album".
"By doing it here in Martin's studio, being able to come back home, network with the community and businesses that would help promote me, this album has a lot of heart. I was able to get my children's church choir (from Fellowship Baptist) to sing back up for the tune Jesus loves me. Step of Faith also sang backup on the album. There are a lot of local connections."
The backup band was comprised of many talented local musicians including Dr. Steven Raisor, Edgar Lane, Brian Smith, Ronnie Waters and R.W. Hobbs.
"I have been fortunate enough to play with such greats as Chet Atkins, Ricky Scaggs and Vince Gill and the guyâs on this CD are just as good as any of them," Parker said.
And Parker knows how hard it is to find someone to compliment one's style.
"Growing up I had to drive miles to find someone who could play on my level," Parker said. "Guys on the same level tend to find each other."
For that reason Parker has no plans to seek out talent to record at his studio. He knows that it will come to him.
Besides, Parker's 30-year musical career is a testament to spontaneity winning over premeditated plans.
Parker auditioned only once for a gig and didn't even get it. Since 1972 when Parker started with a Detroit jazz band, he has performed with over 100 major acts either touring or recording.
"I still can't read music but I've got gold records and Grammy's," Parker said. "Go figure that."
Adams' amateur career echoes the power of coincidence.
Adams began singing as a child but only found her voice five years ago. It was after a performance at her husband's church that talk of her bubbly energy spread like wild fire.
" I have sung in over 100 churches, throughout the area," Adams said. "I have never contacted anyone asking to sing in their church. They've always asked me, for which I felt blessed. Recording this album was the first time I had ever sang with a band. It was a fascinating experience to work with such a high caliber of professional musicians. They heard my song, played it and I sang along. Just like that."
A project that Adams had hoped to finish in three days in Nashville took three months at 7 Pines Studio. And of course there were challenges.
Each of the musicians on the project has day jobs. Because of the tin roof, every time it rained recording had to be put on hold.
"But we did get to record the frogs," Adams said.
Adams said about the experience, "Martin helped me to stretch and grow my voice. We didn't come out and do it in one night. It was hard work, but we had a blast."
And having fun is what Parker's goal for the studio was anyway.
"This was a middle age crazy thing," Parker said about building 7 Pines Studio. "I didn't go out and buy a Harley, I built a studio. Remember the Kevin Costner movie "Field of Dreams"? Build it and they will come."
Nita Adams will be performing live 7:00 pm September 29th at Acoustic Coffee. For more information about her album she can be reached at jeweler4jesus@earthlink.net.
Cd's will be available for purchase in Edenton at: Acoustic Coffee, Byrum's Gift Shop, LaDell Distributors
Edenton Christian Bookseller, and Mitchener's Drugstore.

Albemarle Hope Line, a friend of Nita & Robert Adams
