With a work ethic as strong as oak and a tendency to "let loose" to match, Plainview is bound and determined to take the national music scene by surprise. Their soulful interpretation of Red Dirt country music has been affectionately referred to as "Rebel Country". This title encompasses both their inspired music and personalities. These hardworking and devoted musicians do not hold themselves within the boundaries of what is "standard" or predictable in today's country music, hence the phrase "Rebel" Country.


Plainview, founded by singer/guitarist Travis Richmond and drummer Justin Shipley, began as a "free time" songwriting project while they honed their craft as live and session players for numerous solo artists. It wasn't long before they discovered they had inadvertently created the sound and musical identity they had so long hoped to find in the solo artists they were backing. This led to the addition of bassist Josh Thompson, which brought a new element of pure energy and talent to the group. The line-up wasn't complete until long time guitar tech, Jerrod "J-Rod" Hardegree, was coerced into becoming the southpaw guitarist with the more than appreciated "Perfection. Nothing less." attitude.


With influences and experience ranging from black to white, Plainview has written, recorded and performed their vision of what music is missing today. Heart. Soul. Emotion. It's the mergence of traditional and modern country and rock music that gives them the edge in grabbing the attention of anyone who listens.
