Details:
Robert and Scott Cerny, two young teenage brothers in the heart of the Midwest, began experimenting with music in 1999.

Their musical aspirations began on a unique Christmas day, with a brand new electric guitar, an amplifier that has now lasted through immeasurable wear and tear, and an old outdated synthesizer that was used mainly as a substitute for a bass guitar. Once Robert and Scott learned how to put a song or two together, they began recording with an ancient tape recorder. As time progressed, their sound matured, and they were beginning to find themselves heading in interesting musical directions. After switching drummers three times, in 2002, the group that would be known as Unburdend was solidified. The band began with a pop punk/90's alternative rock sound. Shortly after Unburdend debuted their home-recorded CD, the band played many shows around the Quad City area. Their sound started to evolve. They took a common road traveled by hyper teenage musicians: hardcore. Unburdendâs focus at shows shifted from the delivery of music to thrashing around amidst utter chaos. Robert and Scott realized the band was getting out of all control, and in the chaos of the moment, Unburdend was no more.

However, Robert and Scott werenât finished. In fact, they were just about to begin.

After traveling along a road that has brought many versatile musical experiences and unforgettable memories, the two brothers decided to move on as a two-piece project backed with more piano than guitar, synthesizer effects, and synthetic drums. As a two-piece band, Robert and Scott became more focused, more parallel in their vision, and more devoted in meticulously creating unique, attractive songs that donât fade in impact with every listen.

Opening their eyes to a wide new array of possibilities, Robert and Scott decided that they could create a unique and diverse sound even with only two people. They set out to develop a completely new sound from their original projects. Combining a fresh piano sound with an arsenal of electronic elements blended in, the new duo crafted their first four songs and immediately began recording a demo named The Victory EP. Expanding musical horizons since the recording of The Victory Demo, PTR has created a musical style of their own, where they have created an abstract yet fundamentally simple world of lyrics and harmony. In the summer of 2006, after a year of relative inactivity, the band wrote and recorded 10 original songs to form their debut album. This self-titled CD is available now. PTR is now preparing a uniquely fulfilling live show.

The band now serves as a continually evolving perpetual musical movement in the heart of the Midwest and in the Chicago area. The future of PTR will depend largely on the curious ears that stop and listen along the way.
