The Phylum Chordata composes "Exobiological-electroSEPtronic" music, which sounds as if Depeche Mode, DEVO, The Cure, Thomas Dolby, and Danny Elfman got together, and started trip'n, man(Dennis Hopper voice).

Details:
What is "The Phylum Chordata?"

The Phylum Chordata is the missing link between inorganic silicone-based auditory events and arranged sequences of harmonious pitches and tones that elicit both voluntary and involuntary aesthetically primordial responses from carbon-based life forms.

What did The Phylum Chordata create?

Through a myriad of chemical, light, and mechanical sensory functions The Phylum Chordata has synthesized, programmed, and sequenced a perception of a musical reality.

What is this particular reality?

A reality based upon the theories of modeled analog synthesis, frequency modulated synthesis, MIDI, Logic 6 (I know there's a 7), and one particular notochord's desire to explore synthesized instrumental and human vocal timbre, texture, and tonality. Then develop these variables and parameters into an unique song writing structure to create a realized musical existence.

What was "there" before the creation?

To this particular chordate, there was to varying degrees, fascinating electronic-based timbre with limited musicality and uninspired song structure, or there was solid song structure with humdrum "me too" synthesized timbre.

What was the catalyst of the initial event of the genesis?

The duration of many years passed, while the discerning, yet reflective human component of The Phylum Chordata would record with diligent purpose the classification of various electronic, programmed, computerized, automated, and synthetic timbres. These auditory measures were then placed within an overall taxonomy. This phylum, or taxon of similar intelligently designed cybernetic-based timbre, is the basis of the initial event. The evolution of this primordial soup of time variant frequencies has advanced, matured, and grown into a fully gestated artistic and articulate composition of emotionally perceptive, sequentially proportioned line and mass of cycles and rates of numerous diversified sound wave vibrations...

Who is "The Phylum Chordata?"

The Phylum Chordata is comprised of the introverted, history loving, biology enthusiast, computer-nerd, and techno-instrumentalist, David Sepe. Motivated by his desire to experiment, craft, and bring into being unique musical timbres and tonal qualities, and placing them within melodious, harmonious, and symphonic compositions, the decision to create "The Phylum Chordata" was rather liberating. David realized that he could create his own sound. A sound, which has diffused the concept of arrangement as Glenn Miller's 1940's "big band" era recordings demonstrated. A sound, which has diffused the soulful song structure of Sam Phillips' Elvis and Johnny Cash recordings of the 1950's. A sound, which has diffused the Beatles and Phil Spector "three-dimensional" quality of the 1960's. A sound, which has diffused the energetic power and creativity of 4/4 kick drums and programmed arpeggiator bass lines of the 1970's disco era, as was produced by Giorgio Moroder. A sound, which has diffused the timbre creation capabilities of the 1980's, as made evident by various Devo, Depeche Mode, and Oingo Boingo recordings. A sound, which has been brought to life by the technology of our times!
