BIO PETER BLAST
For over Twenty-Five Years "PeterBlast" has been out there on the front lines of Rock and Roll. He's been called a Rock - N - Roll Survivor, who deserves the Purple Heart.
Around the age of 14, Peter was already playing mid-block South Side Chicago Taverns. Whether you know this guy as "Peter Blast" or as "Peter Blastiosso" it doesn't much matter. All have come to recognize his style, sound and voice, no matter which format or style of Music he chooses to write, produce or perform.
"PETER BLAST" is Back! Playing that raunchy, jagged to the edge guitar, that feels like barbed wire across bare skin with those haunting Lyrics and Vocals to match. Peters newest release {Peter Blast 'EXPLODE'} on Sopro/Stoney Records is pure traditional Rock and Roll. He always has been even thru various formats.
1977 thru 1982 Blast fronted the group "Degeneration" which were discovered in Chicago and moved to the West Cost; Performing thru California, Seattle and was even "documented" the First Punk Rock Group to perform on the Las Vegas Strip. "Degeneration was pegged the American Answer to the Sex Pistols" and the Band was living up to the part. Blast was Partyin hard in those days, hangin out with Stiv Bator of The Dead Boys; Blast was also hangin with "Heartbreaker and ex-N.Y. Doll, Johnny Thunders". It was amazing to watch "Thunders & Blast" throw classic rock riffs back and forth, backstage at Clubs from L.A. to Chicago (They first met in Chicago).
Peter would have me drive to Mexico from L.A. and with someone's guitar would sing and play at the local "Strip bars" with the strippers! (Unbelievable) By the middle of the Eighties / early Nineties "Peter Blast" formed 'The Blast Factory' and relentlessly toured the entire Mid-West. Peter also penned material for the acclaimed film "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer". Performing a mixture of Punk, Glam, Metal, and Rock - Peter formed "junebug" and started using his full name. "junebug" signed with Circumstantial Records from Cleveland and Stoney Records, Chicago. Produced by "Chip Z'Nuff and mixed by "Phil Bonnano" "Ticket to Hell" was released being called the "First Super Group of it's Genre". F.M.Q.B referred to "junebug" as the long lost Cousins of the N.Y. Dolls". The Boys performed with "L.A. Guns" and "Enuff Z'Nuff"," donated a song for "P.E.T.A. thru PopTown Records, N.Y." and were included on The Best Buy release "The Sounds of Chicago".
"Peter Blast was now playing with Ex's and Members of "Bad Finger, Off Broadway, D'Molls, Enuff Z'Nuff, The James Young Group (J.Y. of Styx) and Alice Cooper". "junebug" received World Wide exposer and Radio Air Play. In 1998 Peter began recording his first Solo CD with "Multi-Million selling Producer - Johnny K. at Chicago's Groove Master". "Peter Blastiosso, This Side of Shang-hi" had an array of new material, crossing over from Old Country and Western to Bluesy Rock and Pop. New York journalist Anne Leighton wrote "Peters lyrics and interpretive skills, stand right up there with "Bruce (The Boss) Springsteen, Country Favorite, Marty Robbins (A White Sport Coat with a Pink Carnation) and Elliott Murphy. Peters music walks a fine line between Elegance and Balls." Some reviews said "Peters solo material is like listening to an old "Rod Stewart" album with that Early to Mid-Seventies "Rolling Stones" vibe.
Peters newest release "PETER BLAST, EXPLODE" ROCKS! It's In-Your-Face Vocals and Heavy Rhythms along with its Pop Style Melodies and Hooks give the listener an experience to be had. It's refreshing to know there's still some Real Rockers out there.

"Explode"
Big Bang Entertainment
Can You say" ROCK N ROLL"? Cause that's what I said after the first listen to this CD. I'm a Diggin' it. For you that have been living under a rock and have never heard of Peter Blast a.k.a. Peter Blastiosso (Like Me) Peter is a rock musician hailing for Chicago that has been around awhile and has the scares to prove it. Peter has played and been a part of Degeneration & Junebug. Degeneration also featured Chips Z'nuff from Enuff Z'nuff.
"Explode" is Peters 2nd solo CD and it delivers the goods. With influences like: The Stones, New York Dolls and The Beatles this music would fit nicely next to a Ron Wood cd. And Peter's vocals have a whisky soaked honky tonk quality that most Keith Richards fans could appreciate. And the songs are catchy , sometimes punk but always melodic, plus they carry a certain amount of blues as well. The CD is well produced and is foot heavy full throttle R-N-R! You need to do yourself a favor and check it out. Sample of Sharpe As A Knife form Peter-Blast.com As Sharp As A Knife-mp3
