Details:
"Lingering Light" is the latest release from award winning ambient musician Jeff Pearce. Unlike his earlier releases, which featured processed electric guitars, the music on "Lingering Light" was composed and performed on the Chapman Stick (R).

The music on "Lingering Light" was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winning recording engineer Corin Nelsen at Will Ackerman's Imaginary Road recording studio in Windham County, VT.

"This is one remarkable piece of music. Jeff continues to grow as a player and technician (just the *sound* of this recording is stunning), but it's really the content of the music itself which makes 'Lingering Light' remarkable. There are a lot of guitarists working in musical realms which, on the surface, might bear comparison to Jeff's work, but in this wonderfully cohesive collection his 'voice' emerges as distinct and unique. Most important of all, this music is present... not hiding behind anything... just pure available emotion."

-Will Ackerman, Windham County, VT

Some things you may or may not know about Jeff Pearce:

- Jeff's first cd, "Tenderness and Fatality", was released twelve years ago in 1993. He was 13 years old (with a margin of error of 13 years).

- Music from "Tenderness and Fatality" was used on an audiophile cd created by the Mercedes-Benz company to showcase the soundsystem in their high end vehicles (vehicles which Jeff could not then, and cannot now, afford).

- Jeff's second cd, "The Hidden Rift" (1996) was reviewed in, of all places, Downbeat magazine. (Jeff still wonders how that happened, and sometimes wonders if that reviewer lost his job at the famous jazz magazine)

- Jeff's third cd, "Vestiges", (1998) was composed and recorded entirely at night, thanks to the presence of his newborn daughter. Contrary to what people may tell you, babies do NOT sleep all day. Or change their own diapers....

- in late 1998, Jeff played his first concert at a Cincinnati radio station- a concert sponsored by the Echoes radio program and attended by people who made donations to the station and to Echoes. Starting something of a
tradition for him, Jeff played the concert without any shoes on. After the concert, he was asked by an attendee "why did you play barefoot? Is that a 'new age' thing?" Jeff replied "absolutely".

- in reality, Jeff plays concerts sock-footed because he taps numerous foot pedals during his concerts- very small foot pedals that SHOULD, because of their diminutive size, be called "toe pedals" by their manufacturers. Jeff
also eventually told this to the person at the Cincinnati concert, who seemed somewhat disappointed to hear the reason had nothing to do with being "a new age thing".

- Jeff's 1999 cd "Daylight Slowly", as well as his follow-up cd "To the Shores of Heaven" (2000) was reviewed in Billboard magazine. That reviewer eventually DID loose his job. Jeff's cd's had nothing to do with this- at least that's what Jeff tells himself so he can sleep at night.

- Jeff's cd "To the Shores of Heaven" received the "favorite
ambient/electronic cd" award from the magazine New Age Voice in mid-2001. Less than two years later, the magazine folded. No- Jeff's music is NOT cursed. He knows this, because....

- In late 2000, the listeners of the Echoes radio program voted "To the Shores of Heaven" their favorite cd of the year. Number two on the list was Enya's "A Day Without Rain". Echoes is still around. Jeff is less than sure if
those listeners who voted for him are still around. And Jeff still wonders what ever happened to that Enya person.....

- Jeff's 2001 cd release "The Light Beyond" was recorded live at a Star's End radio concert at 2:00 in the morning. To this day, Jeff doesn't really recall all the details of recording the music. He just remembers that the hosts of the program wouldn't feed him until he was through playing his music.

- Jeff's 2002 release "Bleed" was recorded shortly after the birth of his second daughter. Unlike "Vestiges", Jeff couldn't record the music at night because, unlike his first daughter, Jeff's second daughter liked to stay up all night.

- And Jeff's second daughter liked to stay up at night for years to come, which is why it took until 2005 for him to release "Lingering Light".
