Details:
Perry Allen is an up and coming singer-songwriter from the Phoenix, Arizona area. Sixteen years old and a junior at Arizona School for the Arts, Perry has released his first full length album "It'll Be OK" which has sold extremely well since its debut. He plays multiple shows every month and his fan base is beginning to grow.

Having played guitar for nearly ten years and various other instruments, Perry released the ten song album, "It'll Be OK", November 23, 2004. Although it has a full band, whenever Perry plays live he is accompanied only by his guitar. His record has been featured on Good Morning Arizona plus an interview and a three song performance, it is on rotation on over a dozen radio stations across the country, and can be found in local record stores. Perry is currently working on his next project "The World According to a Daydreamer" - a much more sophisticated sophomore release.

Perry performs two to four times a month at The Paper Heart Gallery, The PHiX, Modified Arts, and many other local venues. He has shared the stage with local acts Adam Panic, Lakeshore Drive, Workshirt Wonder, and Jenna's Arrival, touring artists HIV Wolves, Shambles, and Love Story Hero, and has played for audiences ranging from fifteen to over one hundred people all with the same intensity and energy.

Having only been promoting his music for a year, he has already made an impact on the people who have taken the time to listen. His music is said to have "touched people's hearts", is "inspirational and emotional", and he has been looked at as "an artist - made to make music".

Since its release, "It'll Be OK" has been getting some great press. Here's what a some people have to say about Perry and his music:

"Perry Allen is a man with a plan" - The Phoenix New Times

"At the age of 16, Allen's beautiful, thoughtful music is already light years ahead of what most 25-year-old singer-songwriters can muster up." - The State Press

"...16-year-old Perry Allen is mature beyond his years. He shows off his varied musical talents, playing every instrument on this full-length debut, including acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, bass, keyboards, vocals, and even drums for a couple of tracks. Allen shows admirable skill and range while sticking with a low-risk, uncluttered approach. It's be a cliché to call the songs on 'It'll Be OK' 'sensitive' or 'emotional', so let's go with thoughtful...Lyrically, it's clear that Allen has lived a lot in his 16 years, or maybe just has a rather vivid imagination...there's no denying that this is a promising first effort. (Overall rating: B)." - GetOut

"While I don't know how much training Allen has had in his 16 years on this planet, it's obviously more than I have ever had. His mastery of the guitar at such a young age is quite the impressive feat...The music is hard to pinpoint, but jumps in feel from Dave Matthews to that of Elliot Smith. When Allen...sings, he howls out vocal performances that sound like a mixture of Aaron Lewis and James Taylor. The lyrics are the usual self-reflective...filled diatribes about girls and life at 16, but aren't anywhere near as horrible as the average 16-year-old would write...While 'It'll Be OK' isn't about to set the world ablaze, it's a remarkable effort from an up and coming songwriter. (Overall rating: 2/4)." - The College Times

"His acoustic melodies and sweet songs comes straight from the heart, but do not label Perry Allen emo; he simply won't have it. Instead, the 16-year-old musician...would rather have his music called 'honest,' since the majority of his songs reflect experiences of a young teenager searching for love and meaning. Lately, however, political discourse has also seeped its way into the folk-rocker's repertoire as he works on his next album." - The Phoenix New Times
