NEWS/REVIEWS

TAXI A&R Feedback, Song Title: Don't Bring It Into Church".
Reviewer writes: "Paul, the trumpet just slays me. I love that type of Dixieland playing. I like this song a lot. I could hear it for a Christian musical or perhaps for an old-time gospel quartet. The lyric is visual and fresh. I like the spunk this guy has to tell someone the truth. That's refreshing and something we don't often hear. The arrangement is excellent and perfect for this nostalgic type of song reminiscent of Lerner and Lowe..." Of the structure, reviewer says, "well- written, good sectional contrast, cohesive, good use of imagery, communicates emotion to listener.

PARAMOUNT GROUP-NASHVILLE "Our warmest congratulations! Your entry, "The Lily," in the Nashville International Fall Song & Lyric Contest 2005 has already won the Directors Award and is still in line for the Grand Prize and First prize awards...your work shows very promising talent. We believe it has excellent possibilities for success."

Entertainment Attorney Eugene Foley, "I especially like, "The Lily", and
"Did He Ever"..."Great vocals..."".

Lou Wills Hildreth, a 2005 Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame Inductee listened to "God Looked Away", and she recommends it with her blessings.

BIO of PAUL MASK

I cut my musical teeth on Southern Gospel from the first time I was able to turn on the radio and TV to listen to "Gospel Jubilee", featured by Les Beasley of the Florida Boys. Being the son of a Baptist minister in the South I was raised and groomed on Southern Gospel in its entirety. We always had a piano in our home, which was cared for and played by a mother who meticulously made me practice and sing most of my adolescent years.

I had a knowledgeable ear for music and convinced myself I would sing bass like my idol J.D. Sumner. But I continued to sing as high as the sopranos in our church choir and by the time I was 16, all hopes of going lower than J.D. on "You've Got to Walk That Lonesome Road", were dashed. I received a voice scholarship to the University of Arkansas singing first tenor. My, oh my, what do I do now? Singing on the radio of KADL, Pine Bluff, AR, standing around one microphone with three other guys, singing southern gospel helped take the edge off of never being able to sing bass like J.D.

I did this every Sunday for two or three years and finally settled into the American way of life. I married my wife Angela, raised a family, and most, I say most assuredly baptized my children in Southern Gospel music. We spent many happy hours watching our four children imitate the Florida Boys, the Blackwood Brothers, Inspirations, the Statesmen, Cathedrals, and many others all of whose first albums I still possess. In fact, my oldest daughter is featured on the CD, "God Looked Away".

I wound up in Florida singing in a pretty good quartet for ten years. We would sing locally and sometimes made recordings near Nashville. When my youngest son, Jordan, died suddenly in April of 2004, his death inspired me to put a melody to a poem entitled "The Lily", which we discovered he had written while in Christian College in Pensacola. I now know God has given me a gift of writing music. The words to the songs on this CD flew from my pencil as if God himself was holding it. I've written some fifty songs and this project contains eleven of them. I had not been using the talent I knew God had given me some forty years ago. Jordan's home-going and finding his poem has put a burning in my soul to get the gospel message to listeners everywhere. All glory and praise go to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

My wife and I now reside in Spokane, Washington, near our grandchildren. The youngest of whom has perfect pitch and can start off singing "Jesus Loves Me", acappella and finish on the same note that he started with; bass singer? Lord, please let it be.
