"Let's take that road before us and sing a chorus or two,
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you." Mitchell Parish

"Snowbound" began as an idea to celebrate the warmth and coziness of the winter season in songs from The Great American Songbook...so of course it was recorded in 100 degree weather in July! By the time we reached "Jingle Bells," everyone was feeling cool and didn't mind a nine-hour day in the studio.
First my thanks to Norman Johnson who recorded and mixed with patience and humor, and then accompanied us so exquisitely on guitar. Next, to Bob Kolb on sax, Don Mulvaney on drums and Jim Scianna on bass for the wondeful music they created together. I didn't know that the secret to a great session was chocolate-chip cookies in the studio!
Once again, my gratitude to Richard "Cookie" Thomas for keeping me on track while teaching me to fly solo: I admire your ability as an artist and as a producer, but I treasure your friendship even more. Thank you for your generosity to me.
The best part of recording "Snowbound" was the work with my pianist, arranger and compadre, Joe McWilliams. Joe, your talent, dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism make every moment of the work we do together pure joy.
A special thank-you to Emily Coven of Flax Media for my splended website; knowing you and working with you is a double delight.
I am grateful for the love and support of my friends who listen, edit, brainstorm and care about my dreams...Janet, Marybeth, Kathy, Virginia, Paul. You are all presents that I give to myself.
As with my previous CD, "All My Tomorrows," my gratitude to Rosemary Clooney, whose work will always be the standard for me.
My love to my father, John Mayone...we beat to the same drummer.
"Snowbound" is a gift to my children, Jack and Jacqueline, for all the winter nights in front of the fireplace and for all the Christmas Eves with "A Visit From St. Nicholas." Those memories are always with me; I love you both completely.
Keep warm.
