Music of the great big bands in arrangements written in Paul Kuhn's personal style.
15 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Swing/Big Band, JAZZ: Jazz Vocals
Details:
The present CD-production was literally recorded during the lasst days of the century, on December 27, 1999 in the sold-out philharmonic hall of Cologne.
A turn of the year always calls for retrospective reminiscing which is the reason why Paul Kuhn was inclinded to call this live-recording of his big band concert "Looking Back".
During the 30's snd 40's the big bands came into existence and so it seemed obvious to play the authentic arrangements of the bands in those days.
The other part of the repertoire consists of melodies that have accompanied him for the last decades - popular tunes that, as he believes, fit very well into the successful concert series "Jazz Pops".
Arranged and conducted by Paul Kuhn
All piano solos by Paul Kuhn
The musicians:
Saxophones:
Heiner Wiberny, Matthias Erlewein, Peter Weniger, Johannes Seidemann, Marcus Bartelt
Trumpets:
Thomas Vogel, Rüdiger Baldauf, Jörg Brohm, Martin Reuthner
Trombones:
Ludwig Nuss, Uli Plettendorff, Ansgar Striepens, Uli Launhardt
Rhythm section:
Paul Kuhn-piano; Tom Wohlert-guitar; Gary Todd-bass; Willy Ketzer-drums
