President Gas is a Tokyo based Rock Band with an upbeat flavor, very catchy and radio friendly.
Formed in 2001, the band has been writing, recording and performing ever since. Their first release "President Gas 1" received well acclaim from fans. Their lyrics are contemporary but they don't forget the past. For example, "Mommy and Daddy" referred to 9/11 in New York. The lyrics are in Japanese but their sounds convey the spirit to non-Japanese speaking people,too. The released tunes by podcast were downloaded in many countries all over the world.
The tunes of PG2 are more like funk rock than the first album "One" that was straight rock. "Your Heaven" and "Bonew" are the masterpieces of PG2. They have played these tunes at every gig.
They used a digital MTR with minimum numbers of microphones for the recording of this album. The great recording skills of Ghid, the engineer of the band, are shown especially on the drumming sounds.
After the release of this album in July 2002, President Gas has given many shows in Tokyo. The tunes of PG2 were produced for live performance and almost all of the tunes are acutually important repertore of the band.
This album has already been sold well in Japan. Now they started the sales overseas. Please check out the universal rock from Japan!
