Hailing from disparate parts of the US â California, Hawaii, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Texas â The Press Fire!, now based in Los Angeles, have fused their musical influences to create an expansive and unique sound of layered pop hooks, punk-fire, and indie sensibility â a must have for music aficionados of the world.
The electric vibrancy of The Press Fire! was first sparked in 2004. Zack Olin (guitar/vocals), Clayton Johnson (drums) and Pepper Glass (guitar/vocals) created a unique sonic palette. The band didn't reach its full blazing potential until Nicole Hajjar (lead vocals), Mi Jin Gregory (keys) and Anthony Santaniello (bass) completed the line-up and solidified the band.
In the spring of 2006, the first recording sessions for The Press Fire! found the band collaborating with producers Kevin Bosley (400 Blows, Horse Stories, Blue Bottle Kiss) and Tony Hajjar (At The Drive In, Sparta). This resulted in an impressive, intricately crafted debut. Mixing the artsy-side of 70s punk rock with a modern and undiluted pop edge, New Dress New Rules is a combination of the cornucopia of sounds influencing each band member. This is undoubtedly pronounced in songs such as Iso-electric, with its infectious sing-a-long chorus, as well as the hypnotic groove and sensual tapestry of Capsize.
Equally impressive are their live shows, as they tear up the Los Angeles club scene with a vengeance. The scorching energy and blissful fun of The Press Fire! is something you have to see to believe.
