BIOGRAPHY
Formed in 1995 by Leo Bellot (Bass/Vocal), Alexandre Stry (Guitar/Vocal), Flavio Calixto (Drums), and Nilton Strazzi (Sax), these four Brazilians emigrated to the U.S. and quickly found their stride in South Florida local Latin rock music scene, singing mostly in Spanish with a little touch of the Portuguese language.
Prato Principal has opened for renowned bands like Paralamas do Sucesso, and quickly become a must in every major festival in South Florida, including: Heineken Latin Rock Stage (Calle 8 Festival), FIU Latin Rock Explosion, and Rock the Dock.
Prato Principalâs star is beginning to shine with every live appearance garnering new fans. Their music currently airs on South Floridaâs premiere Latin radio programs: 98.3 FM Fuego Rock & 94.9 FM Zeta en Fuego.
⢠August of 2003: Prato Principal is selected to play at the Latin Grammyâs 2003 Street Parties alongside with Los Rabanes and Locos por Juana.
⢠August of 2003: Prato Principal plays Los Angeles at the Viper Room at ASCAP showcase during LAMC
⢠May of 2003: Prato Principal lands it hit song âInmigraccionâ on the Billboard Latin Music CD Compilation, distributed to 300 Latin Radio Programmers in the USA.
⢠April of 2003: Prato Principalâs song âInmigraccionâ at #3 on Fuego Rock 98.3FM in Miami.
