The seeds of Polydream were planted in May of 1998, when two small-town kids with big ambitions began performing as an acoustic duo in a tiny coffee shop in Medford, WI.
The group gained Eric LeMieux on guitar; then in late 2004 the band became acquainted with a drummer/producer, Britton Rice. Rice, formerly of Lex Rex, spent most of 2005 working with Polydream on their debut EP, A Rigid Shard of Balance: 1.
The work on "A Rigid Shard of Balance: 1" is described as âeclectic recipes that vary from Shoegazing beauties, to Sunny toss-arounds, to Epic pieces that pull on you⦠They are songs of courage, call to action, self-confirmation, spiritual intrigue, regret and more.â
LYRICS:
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
Here we are another space in time
Here we are another window blind
I canât tell you our generation has a chance
To ever fall into lineâ¦
We can take our time
âCause weâre free yeah, weâre free yeah
Catch me if you canâ¦
Here we are another bleeding corpse
Here we are another casualty of civil war
I canât tell you anything will ever
Be the way weâre promised it will be
No guarantee
âCause weâre free yeah, weâre free yeah
Catch me if you canâ¦
Even Rome fell one day
And I know, some dayâ¦
If we donât try to live as one,
We will not out last the sun
âCause weâre free yeah, weâre free yeah
Catch me if you canâ¦

JUNER
Iâve left my mind
With hopes of finding
A reason for this life.
Iâve learned to long
To lose what Iâve loved
So it goes, sometimes.
I think my life is fine.
Thereâs no use in asking me why.
Sometime my dreams are to die,
And I wonder what itâd be like to fly.
Iâve left my mind.
You lose and you learnâ¦
Iâve been bitter but Iâm much, much better today.
Iâve got so long
Youâll only live once.
I donât know what you said, but it just donât matter now.
I think my life is fine.
Thereâs no use in asking me why.
Sometime my dreams are to die,
And I wonder what itâd be like to fly.
What you have is all you need.
Talking out of sympathy.
This, your final serenade.
Consider this your serenade.
I think my life is fine.
Thereâs no use in asking me why.
Sometime my dreams are to die,
And I wonder what itâd be like to fly.

EVRYTHING ELSE COMES TO LIFE
Go and pack your suitcase
Pack your car and leave before tonight
You've gotta find a new place
Drive into LA with the morning light
And paint that face baby
Become someone that you never knew before I
Saw you on the TV, and I heard your voice on the radio
Now you believe in anything
That you can see and feel
Anything beyond the darkened sky
Doesn't seem to be real
You've taken off for shore
Now what's everyone looking for?
I see the sun in your eyes
And everything else comes to life
Now that everybody knows you
Don't you wish that you could go back and be no one again?
The no one that I called my best friend
I saw you on the tv
And I didn't even recognize your face
Then I heard you on the radio and you came back in and filled your empty space
But youâre way too much for me
Cause I saw you sliding away into the sea
And this life
Let's you know who you are
And you are the only one that kept on dreaming
"I could be all I want"
But you bite the hand that's feeding
Sometimes in life you've gotta go where no one's leading
And I'm holding your hand just in case
Just in case you're drowning.
You believe in anything
That you can see and feel
Anything beyond the darkened sky
Doesn't seem to be real
You've taken off for shore
Now what's everyone looking for?
I see the sun in your eyes
And everything else comes to life
Everything else comes to life
Everything else comes to lifeâ¦

GOT A GOOD FEELING
I got a free ticket from a friend, gonna take a ride
Gonna accelerate out into the moonlight
Weâve gotta make it right,
Itâll be a shenanigan
Tonight I feel invincible, but vulnerable at the same time
Out pickinâ pockets, sprint in stride to the sound
Of a box pounding beats in a decked out ride
Iâm a crazy nitty gritty boy in a big city ploy
With a restless heart
And Iâve got a feeling tonight
That Iâm gonna make it right, yeah
Go ahead, now, and save my life
Donât you feel it in your nerves now?
Roll the window down and kick the seat back
Choking down on the 7-footer in the back
Bouncing to the beat and yelling at the kids on the street
So helpless, you laugh, you feel so dangerous
The city lights seem so surreal,
do you get that feeling too?
Howâs your tattered soul? Content?
Feeling alright.
But will you feel so good when the sun shines bright again.
Youâll die happy and be at rest in your thoughts where you feel best.
And Iâve got a feeling tonight
That Iâm gonna make it right, yeah
Go ahead, now, and save my life
Donât you feel it in your nerves now?
Drank away the night, and Iâve got a good feeling tonight.
Save yourself for anyone else, Iâve got a good feeling
Slide over, Iâm getting in.
Itâs a crazy ride, but Iâll hold you tight alright?
You can hold me to it.
And the sun went down over El Paso
And the black bird flies over head
And the children know the lights will be on till their dead
And Iâve got a feeling tonight
That Iâm gonna make it right, yeah
Go ahead, now, and save my life
Donât you feel it in your nerves now?
