"RAIN CITY PUNK." High-energy Melodic Punk Rock from Seattle, WA.
21 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Punk, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
Coming straight from the outskirts of the greatest music city in the country emerges a hard melody beltin' band labeled Poorsport. With influences ranging from early-70's Punk to Orange County Hardcore to Frederick Chopin, Poorsport plays the tunes that are guaranteed to get at least one of your toes tapping.
These Punk-a-Teers have been taking the Seattle scene by storm with the release of their second full-length album, "No Hitter", sharing the stage with notable acts including Lagwagon and Butt Trumpet. Don't miss an opportunity to have some fun with this unique and high-energy band.
"Who on earth is Poorsport?"
Poorsport is a rock and roll band. Specifically, Poorsport is a "Rain City Punk Band" formed on the outskirts of Seattle in June 2002.
"Oh boy, another Seattle band. Are they Grunge?"
One fan describes them as "the unholy offspring of Social Distortion and The Vandals, only not exactly." Which is just about as good as anything we could come up with. Let's just say that fans of Orange County Hard Core and early 70's punk will be easy converts, but the band's sonic diversity will appeal to a wider audience as well. So: "no, I wouldn't say that Poorsport bears a strong sonic resemblance to Grunge."
"Are they any good live?"
Good? Do you like fast-paced, highly energetic sets laced with loads of irreverent banter and self-deprecation, executed by talented musicians who don't let their technical acumen get in the way of writing and performing great catchy songs?
