Seven years in the making, The Heron That Taught Us is a meticulously crafted album. Written, performed and engineered solely by Miles Fender (Charlottesville, Earth Calling Angela), recorded in several different project studios in San Francisco and finally mixed in the newly constructed Streetlight Farm studios in Kenwood, CA in 2010, the album is a complex arrangement of acoustic instruments and layered vocals, in an alternative folk style reminiscent of artists such as Bon Iver and Mark Kozelek.
The album was mastered by Jeff Lipton (Arcade Fire, The Magnetic Fields, Wilco) and is available as a digital download or packaged CD.
