Details:
It is said that on March 4th, 1982, Christopher Ray's guitar was born, and Christopher Ray simply grew along with it.
Christopher Ray.
The name alone sends quaking fear-pains shooting down the backs of those who make their living by pawning off cheap, looped, auto-tuned music on the innocent 'non musical' people of the world.
Much like going into battle without a shield, Christopher Ray chooses to arm himself with only wood and steel. Awesomeness is his only effects pedal.
Christopher Ray's first Instrumental EP, "the pulse of complexity" is the love-child of rhythm, melody, and fiery passion. Let Christopher's nimble finger's deliver you from the evil that besieges your mind. Whether you are doing light yoga, cleaning the dishes, making babies, or seeking therapy for road rage, Christopher Ray's acoustic Masterpiece will supply your brain with the endorphins it needs to keep you from going postal.
The first instrument Christopher Ray mastered was the recorder. He was nine years old, and he could play a mean "Hot Cross Buns." Eventually, Christopher began taking piano lessons, and at his first recital when he was 11 years old, he did well. His parents took pictures, and they may still exist in an old box somewhere. Christopher's musical abilities went through a rough patch from ages 12 to 18, mainly due to the fact that he only played Nintendo. After graduating high-school, Christopher Ray first picked up a guitar out of sheer boredom. Magic was made on that day.
Christopher Ray then founded a few Progressive Rock bands in Pensacola, Florida from the years of 2002 till 2006. This is when Christopher began to harness and develop his unique stage presence. His first show ever was at an outdoor concert event called SpringFest, where his band won a slot on a Discovery Stage through a local rock station that took online votes from listeners. Christopher played in front of nearly 300 people, and began to build a following.
After leaving Florida in 2006, Christopher re-located to Nashville, Tennessee where he began to learn the finer points of the subtle art and craft that is songwriting. This is when Christopher also began to experiment with "fingerstyle" guitar work, or solo instrumental guitar music that incorporates hand rhythm, slapping techniques, and harmonic utilization. It was clear immediately that Chris had stumbled upon his musical calling. Much of his first instrumental EP release, "The Pulse of Complexity," reflects the culmination of Christopher's finger-style abilities.
While playing out at Nashville's famous "BlueBird Cafe," Christopher met the love of his life, singer-songwriter Elle Bijet. Christopher and Elle are currently in the process of creating music for their first collaborative venture. If you enjoy Christopher's guitar, just you wait until you see how his lady sings. The world may not be ready for the passionate pair....
Christopher Ray was born to play music. He is immensely appreciative of any fan he gets, and his drive and passion are evident in the quality of his music. Support local musicians. There is more amazing music floating out there than most people realize.
