Hailing from the Mississippi River town of Moline Illinois, Centaur Noir is the musical project of Jon Burns (frontman of midwestern post punk veterans Meth and Goats). Burns performs his songs as a one man band, strumming his acoustic guitar over a landscape of drum machines, synthesizers, and other various instruments and electronic samples.

The sound itself isn't held down to one specific style and instead is a mixture of many elements. Influences of indie, folk, punk, R&B, and hip hop can be found woven through the sounds of Centaur Noir. One common thread that helps tie everything together is the rich lyrical content.
