Tony and Michele Burdo recorded and produced the album âEncirclingâ because there was a demand for it from their fans.

It is entitled âEncirclingâ for several reasons but the main reason is that in making this album, Tony and Michele Burdo have come âfull-circleâ.

Prior to this recording, Tony and Michele had been in other bands in which they either led, or co-led with other members. All along, they would perform as an Acoustic Duo playing their softer, more introspective music to the delight of their fans.

After the shows, people would repeatedly ask if they had their songs âBe Mineâ and âOr So It Seemsâ on a recording available for purchase. This was also the case with the songs:
âSister Youâre A Rare Thingâ and âLove of My Lifeâ. The latter song, written by Michele for Tony, and having first appeared on a Burdeaux recording.

Another song on the album, âAll My Neversâ, would leave the listeners stunned and moved with emotion when performed in concert.

The album material was selected to feature Tony and Michele Burdoâs Acoustic music.
However, Tony chose to include a few of their Electric Jazz-influenced compositions: âWings of Mercyâ and âWeary Pilgrimâ to round-off the other selections. These songs also hint upon Tonyâs Progressive Rock influences as heard in prior recordings.

âEncirclingâ showcases Michele Burdoâs incredible vocal range and emotive character.
In previously recorded albums with Burdeaux and Beyond the Veil, her powerful upper-register was prominently featured. Songs on âEncirclingâ such as âSister Youâre A Rare Thingâ show her ability to sing in her lower register with a wonderfully warm vocal tone.
The signature sound of Michele Burdo and her upper range is heard on the choruses of âAll My Neversâ while the verses provide contrast with her lower range.

Even though Tony Burdo is an in-demand guitarist called upon for his lead guitar versatility, he carefully produced and arranged each song so that the focus would be on the song itself. He purposefully and artfully interweaved his guitar parts to embellish what Michele, the lead vocalist wanted to convey with her lyrics. Instrumentation was added to compliment the songs if needed.

Tony Burdo wrote and arranged the music to frame Micheleâs lyrics and to capture the overall emotional content that she wanted to reveal.
In some of the songs such as: âAll My Neversâ and âThe Phone Songâ, Michele wrote the melodies for the verses and choruses respectively-a song-writing practice that Tony has tried to employ in their later works as a duo.

The songs on âEncirclingâ fuse many styles including: Rock, Jazz, Country, Folk, & Classical. Sub-Genres of the more broad categories would include: Finger-Style, Progressive, and Praise and Worship.
