Details:
Todd Duane is an international guitar hero! His technique is recognized internationally. The June 2008 Guitar World magazine named him the 3rd fastest guitar player in the world.
But Todd is not all about speed, the song is the most important aspect of a composition. "Technique shouldn't dictate the song, the melody and form come first".
That said, "Omnipresent" is Todd's most progressive instrumental release to date. (also check out Electrocution 250 "Cartoon Music from Hell")
Fans of progressive music such as Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani will have this CD on constant rotation!
All songs produced, written, recorded and performed by Todd Duane between 1992 - 1997.
CD Mastering by Brian Bart at Logic Studios, Minneapolis, MN.
Graphics and Layout by Clay Perkins for Mr. Blister Multimedia.
Album liner notes from Todd:
Psychotic Ward- 1993
Most of my darker music was recorded in Vienna, Austria. It was during my stay as a guitar instructor at the American Institute of Music (AIM).
Black Hole- April '97
A Guitar solo recorded direct thru an Eventide DS/X harmonizer. (up an octave!)
Scatterbrained- Oct '92
Recorded w/ a 27 fret Hohner revelation which I endorsed at the time. Featuring Tommaso Cecere on Bass.
Silence- Jan '96
A favorite composition of mine that I wrote w Finale software on my Mac computer. (Dragging notes to the staff)
Psycho-Dec '93
A favorite progressive composition from my stay in Vienna. Featuring Cosima John on Sax.
Barnyard Scuttle-Aug '94
A tongue in cheek humorous composition with barnyard animals and all! Featuring my Mother on the whistling solo.
Overture- Feb '94
Overture for Thealien. Featuring a Korg X3.
Thealien-Feb '94
A composition built on the opening improv section.
Missing You-Jan '94
I bought my first Fender Telecaster on my trip back to the States in '93. When I returned to Vienna this is the first song I wrote. This song paved the way for my more mature compositions on my debut Shrapnel disc "Todd Duane SH-1088".
Demented-'93
A musical experiment meant to be more abstract than melodic. (although the song form is still popular) Some of my best drum programming to date! (Roland R-5 memory used to the max!)
Vivaldi-June '95
Spring from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi- recorded entirely on guitar. (rather than strings) It's "note for note" direct from the score. Vivaldi has always been a favorite artist of mine.
