Details:
After the successful Bioplaza CD was self-released in 1999, Testube was signed to DSBP Records, and began working on a full length remix disc. A year later, Reconstructive Surgery was released, armed with remixes from several prominent acts, including Pain Station, Biopsy, B!Machine, Trylok, Oneiroid Psychosis, Paranoid Axis, Redonjon, and Thine Eyes. Morphing sounds of gritty industrial, breakbeat, noise, classic electro EBM, glitchy technoid rhythms, moody darkwave atmospheres, and even some occasional dark drum n' bass, Reconstructive Surgery broke the typical "remix disc" mold by offering up a little something for everyone.
With such a diverse lineup of remix styles, the CD appealed immensely to college deejays, and Reconstructive Surgery quickly peaked at the #4 position of the CMJ RPM radio charts in September 2000, remaining in the top ten for six weeks. In addition to outside remixers, the disc featured new versions of several songs re-crafted by Testube, as well as a "megamix" to close out the album.
