I wrote this song as an emotional response to the hypocrisy in the political system, and the dilettante-nature of American pop culture. Yoga and spirituality have become commodities, to the point that New-Age trends towards exploring consciousness and increasing self-awareness by going inside ourselves have become just another form of identity-marketing. You can observe the same trend in politics. Iâve been appalled at times, switching on the TV or opening the morning paper, to see politicians doling out slanders and outrageous moral judgments, only to be implicated later on for their own personal misconduct. In this song, I am sincerely crying out as a child of the North American landscape, âStop the profiteering! Stop the social inequity!â

Why the tone of challenge? Itâs like a teenager who watches his alcoholic parents abuse the spirit and then turn around and punish him for drinking. To me, the real Feng Shui is to turn our own body into the temple and make the inner sanctum of our mind clean and well-balanced. If we canât find peace of mind, why bother trying to arrange the furniture a certain way or hanging charms in the doorway? Iâve never seen a ghost, but I know there are evil spirits lurking inside me, and I need to exorcise them!
