Javier Molina, better known as Cowboy Cumbia, was born and raised and still lives in Laredo, Texas. Since September 17, 2002, he is a born again christian singer, missionary and full time promoter of christian music concerts.

His original hit record âCowboy Cumbiaâ has sold well over one million copies and it won him 3 Tejano Music Awards in 1999 for Best Tejano Country Artist, Best Tejano Crossover Artist, and Best Bilingual Song.

Javier wrote the words and the music to his blockbuster hit song: "Cowboy Cumbia" a Tejano Country tune sung in english and spanish and highlighted by Javier's country styled vocals. The Cowboy Cumbia CD was released by Javierâs own record label Bandera Records of Laredo, Texas in March of 1998 and it is still in demand.

The âCowboy Cumbiaâ song now enjoys a joyful christian version written and recorded in English and Spanish by Javier Molina himself. The christian version has been widely and joyously accepted by the international christian community all around the world.

Javier has recorded 4 christian music albums (a) Cowboy De Cristo; ; (b) Shalom (c) Disco Cristiano; (d) Cristiano Country and 1 hits collection album entitled Exitos Musicales Cristianos. His 4th album "Cristiano Country" is entirely bilingual in English and Spanish and contains 19 songs.

During his popular singing career, Javier made several appearances in various television programs and special events such as Despierta America, Al Fin De Semana, Gordo y La Flaca, Johnny Canales, Festival Acapulco, La Feria De San Marcos, Tejano Music Awards, Caliente, Furia Musical, and many more.

Born and raised on the border, he grew up listening to Mariachi, Trio, Tejano, Norteño, Rock & Roll, Latin Rock and most of all Country music. His biggest musical influences have been Pedro Infante, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Los Relampagos Del Norte, Rigo Tovar, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, George Jones, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, and The Eagles to name a few.

After being healed of a tumor in his spine through prayer and faith, in September of 2002 Javier heard a strong spiritual and divine calling in his heart that prompted him to retire from the popular music industry. Ever since that day, el Cowboy Cumbia has dedicated himself to composing, singing and promoting Gospel music.

From December 2002 to the present, he has produced five Christian music albums. His music style is still the same but employs a very Christ-centered message.
